It's funny because everyone and their mother love Sam's lid colour since day one of RU-vid. Including myself, of course. I believe she even addressed it long time ago that people ask her what eyeshadow she is using whenever she not using one at all.
I’ve been watching Sam’s videos for ages, even if I don’t wear make up; watching artists and artisans share their trade, their expertise is enjoyable for me. And in Sam’s case you have to add the personality and how articulate she is. I am happy to have her back more consistently. And it seems I will continue to accumulate a theoretical know how🤷🏻♀️
You definitely don't talk too much! It's like having a lovely chin wag with a friend. I love this look. I'm in my 60's and don't laugh, but I've been wearing purple mascara again..( because I'm divorced😂). I'm finding I'm wearing all the things I wasn't allowed to wear when I was married. .. getting it all out of my system... Love all the videos you do, so I'm happy with everything..💕
This type of glam/elegant makeup is exactly what I’ve been waiting for! I love the undone, lived in, effortless look and nobody does it better than you! Thank you for this. I’m going to give it a go on my next girls night out.
Love this look! Refreshing to see a less us more approach as I feel a lot of beauty bloggers are still piling on a lot of product. I’m in my 40’s and I tend to gravitate to a more effortless look. A lot of my “work” comes in the skincare application before I even get to make up. Would love to see more effortless looks in the future. Have a wonderful day!
I'm exactly the same.. I wouldn't dream of things like contouring highlighting etc or fussy eye make-up . Like you, I go to great lengths to take care of my skin as I don't even wear foundation! Too scared! This look is so up my street, totally effortless, elegant and stunning.
Your style of makeup has influenced mine so much over the years. There are few people on this platform who knows how to do the more undone makeup looks. I'm very grateful for your tutorials
You do not sound like an idiot I love hearing you talking out your thoughts about stuff like this. it’s actually quite educational! loved you for years!!! Thank you for keeping it going for us. ❤
Your explanation of what to choose if you have darker skin is so thoughtful. It isn’t obvious to a lot of makeup newbies and it taking the time to explain product choices makes your tutorial useful for a broader audience. You are an absolute pro! Thank you!!
Your videos from the early 2000's literally taught me how to do makeup! I started at MAC and worked my way around the beauty world. I will forever be inspired by your technique! I've always stuck to your philosophy of doing beautiful makeup without covering the person in heavy, unnatural, deceptive products. Skin should look like skin! I'm so glad you're back doing tutorials! People need to know that makeup doesn't have to be so intimidating and that's what you do! ❤️❤️❤️
Great video. I actually do have a request but it’s rather specific, so maybe I’m just overthinking this. It about how far in and out products are placed on the lash line. I see that you often take the eyeliner colour quite into the tear duct, but whenever I do that it looks like shit on me. Some people start the eyeliner mid lid and take it out straight, some upwards, some do thin lines others thick, some work product into the lower lash area… I get that there are a million options, but I’d like to understand what the thinking behind is and what it does depending on your eye shape, depth, etc.
Yep. Love Sam’s make up videos but she’d look great even if cack handed jittery fingered I did her make up. I volunteer to be the model for a ‘mature’ look ie saggy age spotty and Picassoesque asymmetry
Once a year, I get IPL treatments. They are not expensive. I like how it evens out my skin which has a tendency to get reddish and look muddled. I have done so for years.
❤😊Sam I'm so ecstatic that you n ur sister are back doing videos!!!! Can u please 🙏 do something on very hóoded lids for eyeshadow??? I need help ideas to use some summer colors I have, i.e. greens blues purples etc... I really appreciate and love you❤❤❤❤❤❤..
Hi Sam. Really love this look and I love the way you explain things it makes it super easy to follow. In terms of other content, I'm in my 50s and my eyesight is deteriorating a bit. I'd love to know how to do a little bit of pretty colour on hooded eyes in middle age with all the challenges that brings. As a teenager I used to love very soft matt pinky brownie looks. Because one eye has astigmatism, when I close the other eye i can't do this one 😂 So I've pretty much given up doing it and stick to a tight line only but if there's something simple I could do that would show on a hooded eye that would be a tutorial of love to see. Bit specific I know! Don't worry if it's not something many would like. Also, probably not something you're interested in any more but if you felt like reviewing waterproof eyeliner that would be fab too. Takes me back to the days when you and Nic would throw buckets of water over each other to validate waterproof mascara… Hilarious 😂
More of these pls! Easy but elegant and sophisticated. Loooove this look and I think I can do something similar with two ByTerry ombré blackstars I have - the pinky shade and the deep brown to line! Not used them in ages. Also, thank you Sam for keeping the skin without loads of layers of concealer. I’ve never understood that trend (especially the crazy bright under eyes!)
Stunning…please, please do the one about seeing the ‘ex’!! 😂😂. P.s, you most certainly do not talk too much, love listening and and learning from you. X
Lovely to see all the little tips for us ladies above 40 😅thank you so much Sam been a fan from early days but haven’t been on RU-vid for ages Fantastic makeup ❤
Oh yes the effortless killer look ! I have an event on July 1st and I'd love the killer look .... Thanks Sam, your makeup looks are gorgeous as usual ! xxx
I still remember my first time watching beauty video tutorial was Nic’s Kim K wedding tutorial in 2010. And then I watched both of you especially Sam’s because I have a more angular jaw and hooded eye like her. And I think throughout the years I put on my makeup, your effortless and kinda ‘undone’ style still influences me until now. I could never achieve the ‘full-on’ and heavy makeup style people seems to like even if I tried.
Gorgeous look, I love wearing pink eyeshadow it's so flattering. I missed the name of the lash curlers love of you could just tag them out would be great. Also, you don't talk to much at all. Your videos are fab. Thank you xx
I'd love to see a Clara Bow inspired look - i always loved it when you gave us a bit of a make up history lesson (your original Marlene Dietrich video from years ago was one of my all time favourites😊) I also love it when you chat more - like books you're reading, what kind of day you're having.
Love that you are back on yt. The first ever makeup tutorial I saw was your original Marlene Dietrich tutorial 🫣 Been following you ever since, and all my makeup skills comes from watching you 😊❤️🔥
Hi Sam! Stunning look as always. I’m the same as you, I can’t be bothered to spend too much time on my make up anymore. Im 48 now And too busy for faffing! 😆 I really appreciate your content. Thank you for this. Much love xxx
At 57 I still love the ritual of makeup. It's still fun most days although I have simplified and stick to my tried and trues. Those Nude Sticks are something I will look into now since the ease and convenience is paramount. With my fair and fatigued eyes I sometimes look more tired than I am and am always keen for tips & tricks (modern ones) to making them look fresh, clean & awake. Staring at fine print on two monitors at work each day takes its toll. And too many eyedrops dilate my pupils scarily. Love that little eyelash curler tool. I have never used that other kind. However, I am on-the-hunt for a seriously good Waterproof mascara for summer. Cannonball by Urban Decay used to be my favorite but of course they discontinued it. Love you Sam! This simplistic makeup is my jam. ❌️💖⭕️
Samantha sorry if this is super awkward to read but you are unbelievably gorgeous! How your not modelling campaigns everywhere is beyond me! You are truly stunning! ❤ I've been watching you and your sis and been a RT fan for years also and I finally just had to tell you! (Not that your going to read this) I hope you and all your gorgeous family and healthy and happy xxx
I haven’t watched one of your tutorials since the Pixi woo days, amazing…so relaxed in your approach but effortlessly knowledgable. Going to try this one as a wedding guest style look for an upcoming wedding!
I would love your take on skin prep before applying makeup. What exfoliation, moisturizer, and spf to use to get a smooth base under makeup. I'm in my 40's on tretinoin and sometimes my skin looks dry and textured under makeup. Your skin looks amazing!
Hahaha not sure if this idea will make it....makeup for the bedroom 😉 rrrrooowwww. Something sultry, yet easy, not a lot of makeup but enough to feel sexy and put together and that's not going to rub off hahaha
I love this kind of elegant effortless makeup look! It looks gorgeous on you Sam! Late in the party to tell you this but, sooo good to see you, your talent and your expertise back! Could you please do a 5 minutes effortless everyday makeup look for work that would suit most skin tone and that a makeup beginner could easily do?
This type of makeup look is right up my alley! As I’ve gotten older & my skin has become drier I can’t wear heavy layers. I focus on skincare, sheer base, effortless looks for eyes & lips. Balanced out! I love lip & cheek products too bc they’re simple. I also love lip gloss or oils bc a heavy lip that I have to maintain gets on my nerves. Thanks for all you do!
Love this look, stunning as always Sam! As much as the heavier styles are fun to watch this sort of look is much more relatable, so thanks for the inspiration. And always love to hear your opinions/stories, feels like chatting with a friend, so please don’t think you talk too much!
Love this look as always. It’s giving me Linda Evangalista vibes and I’m here for it. I always look forward to your videos so I’m glad your back on RU-vid.
I must try that corner lash curler, I’ve been using a lash serum and my lashes are so long now which is great, but I have a couple that just go straight down on the corners and really irritate me, I cut them off once, then when they regrew they poked me in the eye for ages, lesson learnt lol x
I love to see looks that are not too many steps, and can be easily travelled with (if you’re staying in a hotel and want to travel light), particularly for events. Thanks Sam 🙏🏻
Sam! I am so happy this came across my feed. I’ve loved your work for ages and it was so good to see you. Thank you for teaching all of these years. You look wonderful, wishing you and yours well! 🥰
Love this! I have Pink Seychelles and was on the look for an easy summer makeup. This is it. And if I ever need help to stunt over my ex, I'll be asking you for that look! Kudos working through the stomachache too x
Love it, thanks Sam! Long time follower of yours and like you I can’t be arsed with piling on make up. My skin doesn’t handle it and it slides off. Most of the time I don’t wear any! I’m a bride soon and I’m not wearing white. Doing my own face too, so these tips are great. I probably will go slightly more ‘daytime appropriate’ but I’m definitely going to find those lash curlers as I always pinch myself with big ones!
Love you Sam, so authentic and great tips for people who have no clue. Love how the makeup is fresh, dewy and still natural enough rather than heavy and matte x
Hey ladies, please don’t ever get buccal fat removal, it’s INCREDIBLY aging and it makes you look gaunt/ill, it also makes the skin around and beneath the jaw crepey and saggy. My aunt got this procedure done and all it did was add around 10 years of age to her face! Please don’t ever do it! x
I love how effortless it always looks when you do these. I appreciate that you acknowledge at the end how once you hit a certain age, that it can be difficult to maintain flawless foundation. That has been a real struggle for me getting back into wearing makeup at a much older age. Textured skin is not fun! This look I think I can pull off and look fabulous doing it as an office look that keeps me looking professional without appearing 'overdressed.' Brilliant look! 💜💜
Sam, thank you for this. I’ve never been interested in the painted-on, camera ready full face which can be gorgeous but is totally irrelevant to my lifestyle. It just isn’t “me”. This looks pretty and polished and suited to my skin as I’m almost 40.
Omg those were all GREAT ideas!!!! I need to see all of those looks! lol This video is a banger!!! I can’t wait to try it out! I love how much education and information you give! It’s so helpful! Xoxoxo ❤
Sam, I have watched you do your makeup for years, and I enjoy it every time. Elegant makeup is beside the point because your face is gorgeous regardless ❤ your style is by far my favorite...effortless and lively at the same time. Perfection 👌
The make up is perfect. Your cheekbones are to die for. I have never ever enjoyed a makeup tutorial so much as this one. I've subscribed straight away, no hesitation. I'd like to more like this as your eye makeup is the best.
This look is beautiful !... No., you don't talk too much... And could you possibly do a look literally showing us what NOT to do if you want your makeup to look youthful when you're over 40?? You have no idea how much this would help coming from you in particular x
you make cream eye shadow look so simple and possible. i've tried nudestix and i just couldn't get the hang of it, or maybe colors that "should" look good on everyone just look blah on me. i'm fair and slightly cool toned, so a lot of things that don't seem to pull warm look dull or orangey on me. anyway, love you sam
Your presence is so calming, no latest "must try this new item' energy....which sadly, is everywhere now. Makeup professional who's authentic to her audience, So Very glad that you and your artistry have returned. Love your topics, your chat while explaining:))
Omg Sam Chapman. I remember watching your videos from Pixi Woo times. Thank you for not putting annoying music and for the calm energy youve always exuded. Its almost relaxing to watch you put makeup on 😂
Looking so beautiful, Sam. It's like we are listening for 3 o'clock dog all over again! Have aged so gracefully. We should all be so lucky to have a gorgeous mom like Judy to inherit those good genes.
Iæd missed watching you so much! Post-pandemic I have had to re-learn how to wear make up and not be bored by the process. These kind of looks are what I'm enjoying. I don't even use foundation any more, just a bit of concealer where needed. How do you get to tightline the upper lashline without it transferring to the bottom? Is it a product issue?
Absolutely love your makeup vids! You definitely do not talk too much! I love hearing your insights and ideas and instructions while you apply your makeup. I find your videos very inviting and fun to follow. Thank you! And I LOVE THIS LOOK!!! I'm going to try it today.
Hi Samantha, I recently descovered your chanel and I have a lot of fun listening to you and waching your beautiful makeup! Really like your style and explications. Everything that seems stupid to you when telling some details about makeup are such a good tips! Please continue with your approach! And woyld really like to see more of maximal effect with minimal products!
You are fabulous. Your eyes are stunning. Thank you for making this look so accessible! Lastly, thank you for sharing about your Hashimoto’s (I have Grave’s & I found it helpful!)
You are literally the best!! I think the first video I saw and followed was in 2010? It was the Dior 1920s inspired makeup if I’m correct. You explained it SOO well I was hooked. Anyway thank you for your years or service!! 🙏🏻
Loved this one. Thank you so much. Really enjoyed the vibe. Being the older side of your demographic I'm trying to embrace the less is more vibe. My issue is longevity - I swear my skin eats make up
Love watching the young MUAs but could never wear so much make-up X less is definitely more as we age. Just do what make you feel good to face the day!
