Elekit TU-8550 Tube Pre-amp Kit with Phono Stage build (Part 2) 

Was absolutely blown away with their demonstration panel at this years show in Costa Mesa this past June. Their products punch well above their weight for performance to cost ratio. Heard them with a pair of TAD speakers.

This is a GREAT video and thank you! What is that black thing on the stand to your right that you use when you solder? Is it blowing cool air onto the board or is it sucking the air away like exhaust? Thanks - Dana

Great video. Unfortunately, the price has increased significantly- basically double that of the TU-8500. And, there is still no remote control which, for me at least, is a dealbreaker. I would assume it sounds a bit better, but preamps hit the diminishing return point pretty easily, and unless the phono stage is much better than the TU-8500, I'd rather save some money and just get the previous version.

Thanks for your videos ! How does the TU-8500 and TU-8550 compare sound-wise ? Is it the same tonal character ?
