I cant really comment on this properly because i dont own an Analog heat, but i read that in the MK2 version, one of the things they changed/ improved was the headroom issue the MK1 had, so u might wanna get a used MK2 rather than the new Heat + FX (MK3)
I thought that too but then was reading on Elektronaughts that the headroom was actually lower (?!?) because they wanted to lower the noise floor. Don't know what to believe at this point.

Fun fact, gain staging management just went better today. Effects are amazing, no they're not the same as other eleektron boxes for 1 main reason : env follower modulation with eq, that change everything, it allows way more creative delays reverb etc. The heat side went way better too. To me it's not the same box at all.
@@MKDVB well, if you look at the price of a new MK2, i'd say the price of the AH+FX is totally worth it! it really makes a difference for me (ive had an mk2 in the past and have an oto boum). Next to the fx, don't underestimate the compressor, bass focus, and noise gate options. and the easy way of changing the order of all fx, really an awesome all in one box to connect to a synth, or drummachine. or your computer ofcourse, but i'm a harware guy.
