Prosper is a very powerful Commander so as long as there are some other nonland cards in there it’s probably pretty good I built (and still have) a Rakdos, Lord of Riots deck with every meager “impulsive draw” card I could in 2017… it’s become a great creature deck, but Prosper was stronger and beat the Rakdos deck right out of the box 😭 It’s hell being an early adopter. If you play long enough it’ll happen to you too!!!

I find Planewalkers super boring tbh so its a big no for that kind of deck for me but nonetheless it was a good game. just not a fan of Planewalkers

I interpret Cadric this way as well. And was psyched to see this video/discussion, as I was building this deck now as well. Cadric specifically states "THAT TOKEN GAINS HASTE," it does not mention other tokens generated by Anointed Procession or other token doublers (looking at you doubling season). If the Anointed Procession token does not sacrifice, it also shouldn't get the haste either. All or nothing.

But anointed refers to the card making the original token producing a second. So I think the content creator's interpretation was correct...

Oracle Rulings for Anointed Procession say "If the effect creating the tokens instructs you to do something with those tokens at a later time, like exiling them at the end of combat, you'll do that for all the tokens." Which makes sense. Anointed Procession isn't copying the tokens, it's replacing Cadric's effect that creates a token with an effect that creates two.

I think you are right about this, it's an effect of the commander not the token, so a copy of the token should live.

Chase played it correctly. Here's the ruling on Feldon, which has the same exact wording: "If Feldon’s ability creates multiple tokens due to a replacement effect (such as the one Doubling Season creates), each of those tokens will gain haste and you’ll sacrifice each of them. (2021-03-19)"

@@tzarl ahh okay, that sounds correct, if you somehow make a copy of the token after the trigger it would not be sacrificed. It's due to it being a copy of the ability!

That is correct. If the token creating effect says the token has the sacrifice ability on it as part of definition of the token, then copies of the token would also be sacrificed. But that's not what is happening here. Chase's deck should have been going off earlier and harder!

Yeah, the issue here is that (1) Annointed Procession is a replacement effect, so the effect creating the tokens sees the doubled-up tokens as well, and (2) the same effect tells you to sacrifice them. If Annointed Procession was a triggered ability ("whenever you create one or more tokens, create another one of those tokens"), the extra ones wouldn't be seen by the effect creating them and they wouldn't be sacrificed. Does a card like that exist?

I did.

Cadric has two lines of text. First line applies to all tokens; I believe second line only references the token Cadric creates and no other tokens; therefore, anointed procession token does not get haste or sacrifice. IMO, not a certified judge.

Actually, re-reading Anointed, it seems to refer to the card that makes the token; so maybe it DOES actually get Haste and sacrifice... hmmmm. Maybe she was right..

@@teferitoots8043 Pretty sure you don't sacrifice it. You sacrifice these kind of tokens when the wording says ''it gain: ''sacrifice it at end of turn'''' on the original token maker. The token doesn't have it, you just sacrifice the original because Cadric instruct you to do so, nothing make's you sacrifice the other one. Edit: Ya I was wrong, Matt is correct.

You are correct, but I don't think the reasoning is accurate. Annointed Procession creates a replacement effect that modifies how the token is created. It's still the same ability that creates both tokens, so it applies to both of them.

I think it actually does work that way. From Gatherer: "If you choose to draw two cards, then replace one or more of those draws with some other effect, the rest of Sylvan Library’s ability still happens. If you’ve actually drawn only one card that turn, you must choose that card and either pay 4 life or put it on top of your library. If you haven’t actually drawn any cards that turn, the rest of the ability has no effect." Because the effect of Underrealm Lich replaces your all of your draws that turn(putting a card into your hand is mechanically different from drawing a card), you have technically drawn 0 cards that turn which means that the rest of the ability has no effect.

@@ryanstewart2289 you are completely right in what you're saying, but that's not what I was talking about. What I'm saying is that each draw is replaced by looking at three cards and putting one into your hand and 2 in the graveyard. That should happen three times. You shouldn't be able to look at the top 9 and put 6 in the graveyard, since that would make it possible to keep the first three, and bin the last 6. You should only be able to keep one card from each group of three cards you look at.

@@ubermusli Moreover, you should decide which card to keep from your first three _before_ you see your next three.
