That is so wonderful how you are aware of your little ones' preferences in school. It is the best way to teach our little ones to be observant and know their strengths and how they learn best. Thank you for sharing! 🙏☺️
I personally love TGTB LA so much! I feel like it’s so thorough. It works well with my eldest because he only needs to be taught something once and then he grasps it. The scaffolded spiral approach is great. That said, he has recently told me he “hates” TGTB now because his lessons take too long. 😢 Needless to say I’ve just printed off the first week of masterbooks to try and I’m hoping it will be enough for him!!
We started the year with Level 1 TGTB and switched to MasterBooks around 6 weeks into it. We did Level 1 and we'll probably finish it before Thanksgiving. However, we switched because my daughter got distracted and, eventually, irritated by all the activities and accessories and, because of those things, how long lessons were taking. Even though now we're doing 3 weeks' of lessons each week it's not taking her as long as TGTB did. I do wish TGTB had a paired down version without all the stuff, with just the lessons and booster materials, with maybe one activity every week or so. However, because they tie the activities in with the lesson it just wasn't worth keeping for us.
Me too I’m about to switch to masterbooks. Gentle seems so nice. I just switched my daughter from their level one math(tgab) to math with confidence and it reminds me abit of masterbooks math minus the Bible story. Or other story they have. The language arts my daughter didn’t like it. She liked the poetry and booster cards but the other stuff didn’t care for at all or even the handwriting she said it was too much coloring which she doesn’t like.
