We are using the The Critical Thinking Building Thinking Skills Level 1 next year for 2nd grade. I decided one page a day. Then what's left we will use in 3rd grade. We used Lollipop Logic before and enjoyed it. My children really like Mind Benders too!
I enjoyed the new video quality, not that the previous quality was terrible. And the lighting is very good! I don’t think you need any additional lighting. ❤️ also, thank you for this logic haul! I’ve been looking into getting my kids a couple of books so this was a blessing!
I bought the critical thinking skills level 1 and am still waiting on it to come. I hope it works out. I think we will just do it a couple of times a week. We are ready for second grade but have never done these before. I feel first and second grade has so much to learn with phonics, spelling, grammar, guided reading, literature, fluency practice, and we do lessons in word families. It seems to be less for 3rd and older when these lessons meld together.
Do you feel like any of these books have more to offer than the Bambino LUX? We are loving ours still and appreciate the recommendation last year for it!
These are much less focus on visual elements and more word problems. I think they're maybe just the next step or in addition to. I don't see it as an apples to apples comparison. We still love our Bambino LUX as well!
I don’t have my glasses on yet this morning so I can’t tell you the video quality, but I do think the sound was not well-rounded. It did sound different to me and more on the higher side without the more base tones, if that makes sense. Do you know if Kumon has a logic book for 2nd grade or 4th grade?
My youngest is still using the Kumon from her timberdoodle kit, she loves it. My oldest has made it through 2 of 3 of the safari books. She loves them and gets so proud of herself. I'm looking for more workbooks for next year and summer.
