I watched this when I started coming out to people. I really did connect with Elena and stayed up late watching this show because it made me feel understood. Even though I had a 10 hours shift the next day.

I love this series💙 this show is what pushed me to come out to my sister (btw she already knew a long time ago🤦♀️ would've saved me months of thinking if she would've just told me sooner but it's all good) and possibly my whole family too but it is true what penelope's friend said... "she probably thought about this for months or possibly years" I actually thought about coming out to my mom last night but the timing was always wrong, and deep down I'm freaking out whenever I always try tell her... This show is amazing and I hope it'll reach into one of the most inspiring show ever created💙 and I hope I can tell my family soon😭

I don't think the "Elena" character would like people to make such a big deal about her being gay. *She gay, we get it.* OK maybe it's mostly me who thinks it's not that big of a deal. There are millions of un-closeted people.
Nah. In this new season a cousin of hers has to basically explain to her that their is more to a queer persons identity than that. Shes newly out and very proud.
