This is film from July 1963. The film poster on front of the bus at 0:02 is for Donovan's Reef and you can see John Wayne's name on the LH poster with the first 'Do' of the title on the RH poster. The film ran at The Plaza July 4th-24th 1963.
Couldn't agree more. My parents came over from Mauritius in the late fifties. I remember growing up during the 60's/70's. And my parents friends/relatives were always smartly dressed!
The world's always changing, always has been changing and always will be. Always surprises me that some people think it's always going to stay the same as when they were kid. London has always been a hugely cosmopolitan city and always will be. Go to the museum of London. Go and see how people from Africa, Asia, the Middle East and all over Europe lived in London in Roman times. See how the Celts had come from all over Europe, how Anglo Saxons came from Germany. Or the Vikings from Scandinavia, and their descendants, the Normans, then came from France. Indeed, look at the recent identification of an old skeleton from Roman times as someone who came from what is now Southern Russia.
@@zeddeka I'm in my 30s so when I was a kid, London was very much multi-racial. The point I made is correct: London, and England, used to be populated almost completely by people of native European heritage. They were virtually all white. Of course, immigration has always occurred across the world and in Britain, and a healthy amount is a good thing. What we are seeing now, and for the last 20 years or so, is very bad for our established way of life and it will lead to war eventually, in my opinion. The clash of culture, religion and ideologies is too abrasive too sustain far into the future. What we're seeing across Europe is on another level to past immigration; millions of people from the Islamic third world and Africa are pouring into Europe year after year, often illegally. Transplanting many millions of the world's poorest people into Western Europe will end in chaos. We already see this in literally dozens of European countries such as the UK, France, Sweden, Germany etc.
Not many foreign cars either! Simple engineering that worked! I had 3 fuses in my old Triumph Spitfire never had a fault light on (oh there weren’t any) and never let me down!
@@zeddekaThese people from Africa, Asia etc were not living in London in Roman times. Or if they were they left only to reappear in 1960s. Why would they do that? Look at the photos or movies of the time; 99.999% white.
Hate all the negativity, Elephant & Castle is still a nice spot to live. Never had any issue alot of worse places in London to live. Try living in Ilford far worse.
