I love elephants! When I was in Kenya, I didn't realize how huge they truly are until we had a bull come with the herd and was so shocked! They're very sweet and gentle. It really hurts how they are being hunted, we are such selfish beings! 😔

Yes, it's absolutely horrible. The one positive thing that can be said though is that the interest/demand in Ivory is going down as time goes on thanks to newer generations of people being more concerned with protecting wildlife and also the traditional Chinese medicine trade being less supported as well by newer generations.

Even after years of separation, zoo elephants can recognize their loyal visitors and express gratitude for their surprise visit. Asian elephants need much protection for their survival, and they deserve it.

Yeah, but that's no reason to frequent zoos. Elephants also recognize old friends from circuses and other abusive situations. Don't support captivity and exploitation.

I agree with you completely. After all, God allowed people to dominate animals, but they should do it with love, and not cruelly kill them because of profit. But there is a great hope that soon people and animals will live in peace.

"Elephants are the only animals with long trunks" Tapirs, Saiga Antelopes, Giant Anteaters, Wild Boars, Elephant Seals, Aardvarks, Proboscis Monkeys all have trunks as well but I think she was more emphasizing theirs is the longest

Elephants (imo) are the most majestic creatures to be born. I’d consider them as the true gods of our planet. They’re large, yet they look so composed. Elephants are more majestic than lions and tigers. They’re so godly that it is for this reason that they’re in our temples in South India

Thank you for making a video that is so informative, great images- especially of the elephant swimming and it's feet. Also is conservation enough for a class of youngsters. Most of the other videos I've come across have an annoying narrator voice and the males have obvious privates. I'd rather not be the one to open that discussion with other people's kiddos. Thanks!! Funfact: In Indonesia, Sumatran Elephant lives in jungle. Meanwhile, in Africa they have to deal with lions, there in Sumatra they have to deal with tigers (also humans ofc).

Now it has come up an even bigger threat. "Bloodpearls" are, just what they sound like, pearls made out of blood. The thing with these is that they threat not only elephants with big trunks, like the hunt used to, but now every elephant. The hunters is also taking the blood while the elephants alive, which is extremely painful.
