There is always something really satisfying about these kinds of 2d gun controls, with each move feeling snappy but with weight. I had a blast playing Flashback with gunfights that felt fast and tactical at once.

The OST to this game is beyond phenomenal. So much so that it inspired me to take up learning music during quarantine! (Thank you, Yasuhisa Watanabe!)

Great review as usual! Man, I would love to see TENGO PROJECT do a remake/sequel to this like they did for The Ninja Warriors and Wild Guns.

Yeah, that would be the dream. At least they're working on a revamp of Pocky and Rocky. They're picking their projects well. Hoping they'll come back to this one someday.

The thing with this particular game compared to those others are the other three came out in the US back in the day. While Returns didn't make it this way until 12 years later as a part of a larger compilation

This video introduced me to Zuntata and Daddy Mulk (aka game music track with no bad remixes). I looked up its reviews, and then Gamespot's import review said it's a perfect rental and not worth $60. While all the retrospective praised it greatly. This game would do much better these days if it gets a digital re-release (along with other F3 System arcade games). So glad you are covering Saturn games.

Loved this video, I never knew there were more Elevator Action games besides the original. It's definitely a franchise I've always perceived as "heh, that's for my dad." But this entry certainly appeals to my 90s arcade action tastes.

This game is a bonafide classic, one of Taito's best run and gun games. Plays somewhat similar to Rolling Thunder after the first stage. Got it on US and Japanese PS2 Taito compilations, and of course, on Saturn.

I had the Taito F3 cartridge I got in Japan, at the time it was like 1/3 the price of the Saturn version :P

Great review, Check out Door Kickers Action Squad. After discovering videos of this game, I realize that it served heavily as the inspiration.

This is a huge step up from the original. The original game is my Japanese friend's all-time favourite. I never really understand him until I tried it. Too bad, the series doesn't get the much attention it deserves.

As a non-burger, Die Hard has never been a christmas movie. We only got kid friendly movies for end of the year festivities and that excluded most action movies.

Whether or not Die Hard is a Christmas movie is really a matter of perspective. If your perspective is completely wrong, you will not see it as a Christmas movie.
