Presenting Emerson 9lbs 3oz 22inches born July 24th, 2019 10:34:54pm in our condo elevator!
What can I say about this "itwaslikeamovieexperience." Here is my attempt at a summary:
This was our first baby so we decided to wait until the birth to find out the gender.
BabyTeh was due on July 18th, however since I was late, I was scheduled to be induced on the 25th.
On the 24th around 6am hubby & I went to trillium hospital labour assessment unit. We were told I was only 1cm dilated & to come back today only if my water breaks or "511 contraction count" as I was scheduled to be induced the following day.
After being assessed (& me feeling what I'd deemed as intense pain), but being told it's going to get worse.
I thought, omg I really have to toughen up so all day/afternoon/evening I was in bed & the contractions became stronger & excruciating (but not lining up with the 511 count) vomiting & unable to eat, I felt thirsty so was sipping on water, freezies & electrolyte drinks. To help deal with the worse pain I've ever felt the entire time I was holding onto my stress ball & maternity pillow & having hubby & his parents who came by earlier to comfort me. I kept praying to God to give me strength & telling myself to toughen up... If you know me you’ll know that when it comes to pain, I am a "wuss". I have very low pain tolerance, can hardly handle a needle or even an arm waxing session. Hence the way this all went down is beyond me.
Around 10pm I asked hubby to get me jello
from rabba (~5mins away). Within that time I felt distinct contractions & uncontrollable pushing down sensations. So I decided to check what was happening & felt something hanging out, frantically searched for my phone and I realize it wasn't on the bed & I haven't gotten off the bed for over 2 hrs somehow I got the strength to get up using one hand to hold up what was coming out another to get cell to call hubby @1016pm who was just on his way back up @1019pm hubby called 911 telling them he could see the crowning of the baby's head coming out.
Within mins. (but what felt like an eternity for us) 4 paramedics arrived & attempted to deliver the baby on our bed as a part of him was already out. After a few attempts that did not work they placed me on the stretcher & told me the next time I felt a contraction to let them know & give it my all. While in the elevator that all happened & into the world came our baby boy.
I want to thank God for all the blessings🙏
@peel_paramedics a huge thank you to the 4 Godsent paramedics who helped with the safe delivery of our baby you are all his heroes & the operator who took our 911 call & stayed on the phone with us until the paramedics arrived. We are so thankful to you all 🙏
@trilliumhealthpartners the great nurses/doctor who took over after the paramedics brought us to the hospital.
@dukamanagement thank you for checking in on us & giving us the priceless gift, the video of Emerson's birth.
And thank you always to all our family & friends, this new adventure of parenthood has been humbling & we are learning & taking it day by day. We appreciate all your love & support.

Thank you all for tuning in, this was truly a surreal and unbelievable day. I am forever grateful for the paramedics that responded to our frantic 911 call & safely delivered our baby. They are our heroes. There has been many questions regarding this video so I have recently posted a video telling the story. Thank you & take care

Facts. When I told the nurse it was time she hesitated & didn’t believe me & told me to wait for doctor. Long story short I told the nurse she better catch my baby or I was suing. No doctor was present when I gave birth & that nurse did indeed catch my baby.

К сожалению не все врачи так могут. Какая выдержка и хладнокровие . И всё с собой было, и из носика жидкость откачали - ну разве это не здорово. Малыш такой симпатичный. Мама молодец И медики Никто не растерялся

Love the kudos. But these folks look like they're paramedics from Ontario. There is a lot more training that they have to go through than what most EMTs do.
@natronius
@natronius 3 года назад
Amazing kudos and Mom was next level pro! From the use of the McRoberts manoeuvre and suprapubic pressure, it suggests a complicated delivery that wasn't progressing from shoulder dystocia. These paramedics were life saving with their decisions and actions. And luckily in Ontario, not clamping and cutting the cord immediately is standard care unless resuscitation for the neonate or mother is required. Proud of our Canadian Paramedics!!
