There were mostly blue bird skies in your video, and I didn't observe much turbulence on the lake, I guess you timed it just right for your trip. I believe the knats aren't as bad later in the summer. I went there late July last year, and the knats we're not bad.
Yes, we had great weather. I never had seen so many knats. We were really close to the water this time. The knats were in that tall grass in front of our camper.
