Bah! I was so excited till I heard there was sunscreen in it. I am sooo sensitive to chemical sunscreens, they dry me out so badly- I know there is a lot of hype about suncreens in foundations/bb creams etc, but I like to choose my sunscreen. Looks really nice on you!
I’ve been using the ELF Hydrating Camo CC Cream for the past week in the same shade (205N), and I absolutely love it. It performs as good or better than some of my $50 foundations. What a pleasant surprise!
I really like this foundation on you. I prefer the brush side, but i always prefer brush application and fuller coverage so no surprise here. Your makeup looks beautiful!
That looks fantastic on you! I just ordered it for myself from Ulta. You really do a thorough job of testing these out for us and I really appreciate it. Thank you.
I love that you're so thorough with your try-ons and opinions. Unfortunately the chemical SPF factor blows this one off my list of possibilities. I've been using a tinted mineral SPF as a base under a light dusting of mineral powder or a light layer of mineral-only BB cream for so long, I'm surprised I'm still interested in new foundation product try-ons. Thanks for your previous advice re: Wet N Wild's Tinted Hydrator; I feel like I need to be ready for a change as my rosacea drives most makeup decisions. The color you chose in this new Elf product is perfect for you - you really know what you're doing! Thanks for the video!
Hi Shelly!!! Thank you for reviewing this. I wasn’t sure to purchase it cause the original didn’t work for me at all. I also want to say I emailed Alter Ego asking them to make a dupe for the Natasha Denona I Need A Nude Palette. They responded to me saying they are in the making of doing a palette similar to what I asked for and should be coming out in the next 3 to 4 months!!!!! I’m just super stoked about this!! ❤
That makes me SO happy to hear!!! When I asked right when the original dropped they gave me the ol' wink wink nudge nudge but it sounds like now there's a real answer (and I am here for it! lol)
I bought it the day it launched, in spite of the fact that I didn't like the original. Unfortunately I don't like this one any better, I just can't get it to lay right whether I go without primer or try different ones. I am glad it worked so well for you.
Thank you Shelly! Happy New Year and the dark hair looks wonderful. If your hair reacts anything like mine the darkness will fade to perfection with a few washes of normal shampoo , then I go to my shampoo for color treated hair. You are perfect with any color!❤
Thanks for a great review, Shelly, it's much appreciated as always. I still haven't decided whether to try this one or no; right now I have several foundations that are working really well, so maybe I'll just revel in that for awhile. Always such a pleasure to see Ziva make a cameo appearance, too, you both look mahvelous, dahling! 😍
Omg Shelley , I have just watched two of your videos from 5yrs and6yrs ago , eye makeup , simply stunning, you are so gorgeous ,one you had like orange eye shadow , beautiful , Rhonda from Australia
I very much enjoyed this review. Thank you! You seem like such a light. It is refreshing to see reviews from someone that has skin I can relate to! I have so many little spots & things. You talking about a sunspot was real as hell. Love it!
I was excited to see you review this one! I absolutely hated the original camo fndtn. It pooled into every single line in my face horribly. But I might give this one a try! I tend towards beige-y undertones too..did you find that this shade matched it’s description IRL? It looks like it matched well on camera.
New sub here, your personality is fabulous and smile contagious! I also appreciate we have the same skin type and colour so can trust your foundation review ❤
I know this review is a little old now, but I recently saw someone mention she uses La Roche-Posay Double Repair Moisturiser underneath this cc cream and how well they pair together. Her skin was 🤌 perfection in the photo she'd posted. Sadly, they don't sell this cc cream in my country yet but I live in hope! 🤞
Been curious about this one but have a feeling it would give my wrinkles a run for their money. On a slightly different note, loving the feel of your SqualaneAgave oil. Love the smell of the Magic Potion too! Appreciate you!
I like your whole look along with your hairstyle, etc.. I'm no makeup expert by any stretch but i like to use a light setting spray that helps with any possible dryness or cakiness, etc.. I have dryer, sensitive skin so my setting spray is more like a rosewater, etc. The last time I tried All-nighter setting spray it was a disaster!! It seemed like I sprayed rubbing alcohol on my face Thanks for the great video!!
Hi! New subscriber here 😊 I really enjoyed your review of this new ELF hydrating CC cream. I have it but have yet to try it out. I have more dry skin so I’m hoping it will work for me. It looked very pretty on your skin. Always appreciate a wear test too! Have a great day! 😊
Oh Shelly, how I've missed being able to watch you! Lucky for me, I can get back into beauty YT now! This looks great on you and the shade is perfection. I'll never understand the shades that look orange. I can't recall a time I've met a person and thought "oh, they're orange-complected for sure " 😂 I missed Ziva so much, too. The look she gives you after you say her name is priceless! 💕🤣
LOL. You are a trip girl. Anyway, I think it looks great on you and the color is perfect. It is tempting since you said it did not dry your skin out. Can’t beat the price. Thanks again for another good video. What kind of sandwiches do you get? Just curious. Have a great weekend! Hi Ziva
No, I’ve never seen it. I’m watching Fargo season 5 at the moment. I’m really enjoying it. I liked it so much, I’m going back to watch other seasons. I’m loving your short hair, if I haven’t said that already. I’ve gotten out of the habit of posting comments..My eyes have gotten so bad. I’m on my iPad right now so it’s cool. Easier to type. Happy New year!
I love Letterkenny!! I adored each character so much! But what I loved the most was how much they all would get together and be there for each other. Whether it was the hopping in the trucks to be there for Katy, or being there and getting Dale back.
Yep. The whole final season had me in tears (laughing but also emotional!) lol it felt so weird to cry at Letterkenny but their relationships and the growth they all had throughout the series.... got me right in the feels.
I love Elf, and have so much of their stuff friends joke I could open a store. I hadn't tried the Elf Camo Hydrating CC Cream but I will now. So funny I sat and watched your video wearing a sweater very similar to yours. I get what you are saying about eyebrows....I actually have what I call my disappearing eyebrow....I have an actually bald spot so my left brow looks like an exclamation point laying down. But it's nothing a little brow pencil can't fix, lol.
As far as maybe trying a foundation, I heard good things about the Rituel de Fille 3 drop weightless serum foundation. If you’re interested in trying that one?!
I'm new to your channel but I'm so glad I came across you! I am also in my forties with Sun damage, texture, redness, sensitivity, etc and have never been big on makeup aside from lippie products lol. I appreciate the in depth reviews you do and love Ziva poppin in! I want the my skin but better look but haven't found it yet. I've tried a few products but they do tend to settle or breakup on my face. I'm looking at you IT Cosmetics and Bare Minerals complexion rescue 👀 Also shade matching!!! In the 90's I was a solid medium but now the medium range is too dark unless I'm in the Sun which I rarely am and I do use sunscreen now lol. So any suggestions would be super helpful! Light-medium warm tone, aging, sensitive, textured, redness, dark spots and so want something fairly simple😂 Thanks for the great content!!!!🫶🏾
Thanks for the video. I’m a mature woman either way some fine lines and wrinkles(but not many). What is your #1 foundation and under eye concealer recommendation for me. I’ve pretty much stopped wearing makeup up because I hate it when products sink into the fine lines and wrinkles. I really want to start up again but don’t know where to start.
Right now my top 2 foundations are the Nars Light Reflecting and Guerlain Terracotta - the latter being the most smoothing foundation I've ever seen. And I'd say take a look at the Fiera concealer or the Haus Labs concealer (also the Haus Labs foundation is gorgeous too).
Hi Shelley Revolution have released a serum foundation that is at the higher end of their pricing range: It's the 'skin silk serum foundation'. I'd love to see your review of it 🌞 (I wasn't sure where to put this "ask", so picked a drugstore product video) x
I wonder how this would look mixed in with the Loreal True Match 1% Hyaluronic Acid Tinted Serum. Maybe it wouldn't make it look as heavy in some places and thin it out. BTW it looks great on you!
Hello sweetness. Happy new year! This looks great on you! I’m super dry and have more lines so full coverage isn’t my jam any longer so this may not be for me! I do have a recommendation however; the Shiseido Revitallessence Skin Gkow foundation is skincare heavy and a beautiful medium foundation you may like. Have you tried it yet? Love and kisses to all the kitties. 🐈⬛ 🐾🐾
Love your hair color it looks great on you. You must have done this video before the one where you need a haircut as it's looking like you might need the cut in this one. I use the Missha #13 so think that this 205N will be good for me too, even tho I really don't need any more foundations. Do you think you could find the Violet Voss cool eye palette to try?
I love elf but here in Australia they more than double the price of their products. For eg the halo wands were $26 aud, I only buy them when they have 40% which I think they do 2 or 3 times a year 😔
Hi Shelly! Is it normal for you eyelids to feel tight after applying eye primer? I’m thinking to try the Mac paint pot in painterly you use. It seems the eyeshadow doesn’t go on smoothly or in good pigment when I have used the two kinds of eye primers 🤷♀️
I can't think of any primer that made my eyelids feel tight. They either feel like a serum or a cream to me. But I also tend not to use the "sticky" kinds of primers so they might feel tight and I just don't know it because I've avoided them.
Hi Shelly. Why do foundations insist upon adding sunscreens? They're usually chemically based, and my skin doesn't like them. I use my own SPF no matter what. I wish they were omitted from our makeups. You chose a great color for your skintone. Sun damage does not play nicely with age. I fried in my teens with baby oil. Not too smart, but we didn't know better. Hi sweet Ziva. Please explain to my new rescue kitty that the litter box is where you urinate and poop. Ugh. What am I going to do with her? The Camo held up fabulously. Great job, Shelly. Enjoy your Sunday❣️❤️🩷
Yep I wear full sunscreen underneath no matter what. I don't really get the SPF in foundation because it is REALLY hard to apply enough quantity of foundation to get the stated SPF coverage amount, which is really misleading when people may think they're wearing a decent SPF but with blending and such they're barely getting half that.
I need to get myself some of this!!!!! The only problem is the chemical sunscreen in it. My eyes tend to burn with certain types of chemical sunscreen... but I'm still going to try. And why do I keep feeling like Sherlock is part of your family?? LOL!! xoxo
I want to try it but I do t wear or like full coverage. I’ll b 63 this month but for my age my skin looks pretty darn good!! So I like skin tints and light cc creams. It I heard this was a dupe for it cosmetics cc glow. I got that one but the smell kills me!!! It’s just too strong . O want someone to find a dupe for that one but not the elf!!! There’s gotta be another dupe❤ anyhow, tfs
If it is a bit too heavy l, applying with a damp beauty sponge can help sheer the coverage a little, I also sometimes have half a pump with an equal amount of my moisturizer, mix together and apply
Another fantastic review! Love watching all of your videos ❤ If you get a chance check out the Delilah Alibi The Perfect Cover Fluid Foundation from Delilah Cosmetics. It is a beautiful foundation and I think you’d love it. The foundation game is tough for us dry skinned girlies isn’t it? 😊
