Bacchus was as strong as Erza according to her. If Mira ever try to resist, Bacchus will still have her at the end. but let it be forgotten as this anime's power level is as inconsistent as dragon ball, lmao. Bacchus quickly downgraded in this tournament, so we can have a good match between him and Elfman
@@chakravartin3356 erza never said that🤣🤦♀️she just said that she has seen him because they are both s class mages. Baccus is nothing against either erza or mira
Did you people whining about Elfman suddenly being stronger than Bacchus even watch the video? Elfman won with Endurance, not with strength. Strategic victory.
This was a definite proud moment. Seriously, after so many years, he was finally able to do not one but SEVERAL full takeovers! I think people have completely forgotten that he could only transform his arm. I was crying the first time I watched this fight!
I'm happy for my man Elfman, this battle was arguably one of the first moments in the show where he ever shined. But what I really wanted was just one small change to this fight. At the end where Bacchus is worn out from giving Elfman a thrashing, I wanted Elfman to give him a severe uppercut that knocked him flat on his ass. Thats it.
That WOULD make more sense. No one would pass out from their arms getting bruised and battered. He should have taken the victory pose, then his arms flop to his sides in pain, and Elfman socks him.
@@centurionquincy3899 Baccus probably fainted from overexerting himself. It happens in real life. And it's not shown, but since he's lying on his back at the end, he's probably choking on his own vomit.
Right at the moment when he puts his arms up to celebrate. He doesn't even shapeshift or anything. Just kind of a a half comedic, half triumphant moment
@@centurionquincy3899 I have to point out that alcohol is Bacchus' double sword. It will boost strength and speed but reduce his stamina. That is why I think he passed out after the trashing.
Caroline Lee i have watched the episode and i say it again all he did was get his ass kicked and let his scales do the dmg for him while getting his ass kicked until the other one buckled he didnt go down first because the dmg wasnt in one location like the other guy
***** Hmmm? I guess so, but so can Lisanna. Dragons are animals and I guess you can consider them beasts as well. So both my baby brother and sister can takeover Acnalogia
***** Lisanna isn't always dying. We thought she died once, but it turns out she was sucked into Edolos. But if she tried to take over Acnalogia, his power would be too great for her to control. she would go berserk, like Elfman when he 'killed' her all those years ago.
@@Classcct I disagree he was pretty useless when he was scared to do full body take overs and when he was a child he was outshined by the rest of his siblings
I totally loved this fight, both in manga, and anime. I was pretty much a turning point for Fairy Tail in Dai Matou Enbu, also probably Elfman's finest moment - despite being horribly disadvantaged, he managed to figure out an effective strategy (even if it was a fit of desperation), showing that there was still a brain left in this giant meatbag.
This was easily the best fight in a long time for this series. No nakama power BS just an all out battle of tactics and technique. I might still be reading the manga had they done more fights like this.
Gray and Lyon vs Racer. Natsu, Wendy, and Gajeel vs Faust Loke vs Zoldeo Gray vs Ultear Lucy vs Flare Wendy vs Shelia Gray vs Doriate Natsu vs Jackal Wendy vs Ezel Gray vs Silver Gajeel vs Torafuzar Erza and Bisca vs Ajeel Natsu and Lucy vs Jacob Wendy and Erza vs Irene This is common.
I do love that Elfman is the one who starts Fairy Tail's turn around, from bottom of the barrel under dogs back to number 1. And he does it through a mix of quick thinking and force of will. "I can't land a hit on him? Fine, I'll use my best defensive form and let him beat on me while he hurts himself. Toughest man wins."
@@christopherbennett5858 my point exactly. The author even stated she's stronger than Erza, the woman who can go toe to toe with Bacchus. She'd kill him the moment Bacchus even dare to touch her
Not really in earlier episodes Erza stated the bacchus and her never had a clear winner so he is at least comparable to Erza so Mirajane not to sure possibly lose fight rather than a one side match.
why r some people complaining about Bacchus losing the ending result was a battle of endurance not strength. Elfman realized he couldn't dish out as much power but he could sure as hell take more of a beating than Bacchus could
Yup, which is why he used the strategy he did. Strategy won out here. Elfman saw his only shot at winning and took it. Nothing wrong with that. He had a transformation that perfectly countered Bacchus, so he used it.
I don't care what anybody say about this fight, Elfman's lizarman form looks epic as shit, that was a good fight,it was simple and it really could of gone either way.
Elfman became my favourite character from this fight alone The amount of fights that just end with a simple power boost for the hero is too many, but Elfman turned the tide of battle with a strategy and his sheer willpower, something I’ve always respected in people He’s also a middle child brother who’s weaker than his older sister and stronger than his younger who cares deeply for BOTH OF THEM THAT IS LITERALLY ME IN EVERY WAY
Easily one of the best fights in the series. Elfman uses his opponent's strength against him, instead of pulling a random power up out of his ass or calling on the power of friendship, unlike a couple red and "light red" haired characters I could mention...
H enryuuki this was a good fight in the grand magic games but there were better in my opinion like natsu and gajeel vs sting and rouge or the the final battle of the games hold on did Ezra ever fight in a one on one match
I have to admit, in the Manga this fight indeed had a more epic feel to it. But I was nonetheless pleased with this fight, because of the mood given by the music and the voice actor of Bacchus, which does his personality a lot of justice.
wrong. As a druid player myself, this is not wildshaping. Wildshaping is a complete change into an animal/beast. Elfman is more along the lines of a lycanthrop. Also, his takeovers are more along the lines of monstrosities, which we druids can't wildshape into.
I really love this fight, and Elfman is realy once of my favorite anime characters, so much honor and respect, I wish he gave Bacchus a final blow though
It was so wonderful that Elfman broke first what was a series of humiliation. He could have lost, he wasn't supposed to be a match for a S rank, failure was forgivable. But he won... He freaking WON!
Elfman and Bacchus... Your Battle made me remember the true battle of man. No special moves no ultimate abilities. Only the Will to stand and put your Soul on the line.. Yes this is a true man's battle!!!
He didn't so much as "win" as "not lose", which is sometimes the best strategy. Elfman knew he couldn't win in a fight against him, so decided that for that situation that the best offense is a good defense.
Ok, stupid was probably the wrong word. As I said he more looks at it as a test of manliness. And why shouldn't he? This tournament isn't a matter of life and death, given his character his actions make perfect sense. As for the ins and outs of alcohol, now we're looking to far into it. If you apply that real world context criticism to any entertainment you'll find a million problems. What matters is if it sounds feasible even with poetic license.
When enemy's return damage hurt more than your full item build attack. That aside, a lizard's skin is really tough. While scaled, rough and hard, it's also quite flexible and can absorb and dissipate impact.
To everyone wondering how Elfman won when he only damaged Bacchu's hands, Bacchus propells his hands with magic. And he's drunk, meaning he's using a lot of magic. He probably exhausted him while damaging his hands, which are his only magical weapons
Bacchus' fighting style revolves around his mastery of the martial art Chop Hanging Palm, which is focused around the use of palm strikes imbued with Magic Power through his Magic.Bacchus improved such already powerful martial art in a peculiar way, adding it the consumption of alcohol he's used to, and thus creating Drunk-Chop Hanging Palm (酔劈掛掌 Sui Hikashō): when intoxicated, Bacchus' blows are said to be unpredictable, as well as much stronger than usual.
