15:08 - they may seem very unimportant but they do affect just about every individual in some way and I’m very glad you included them in this video. It made me wanna open up to more options. I thought of having the Wave 3 but yeah - mentioning the Rode mic also makes me wanna research on that. Thank you for this informational video. It’s definitely gonna help tons and tons of content creators
For anyone going to watch that video for the Quadcast: Don't, Wave 3 is extremely better than the Quadcast, not sure about Razer but I know for a fact it is way better than the Quadcast, not only does it sound worse but the software for the Wave is miles ahead
@@NorthernLaw_ you make it sound like the quadcast is the worst microphone to ever be made, im not sure how you think the quadcast is terrible compared to the wave but the razer isn’t??? the razer is like completely flat. Barely any highs or lows
This is all I needed to hear, way better than an XLR mic with a ton of extra work and hardware, this mic sounds amazing and definitely the best USB mic I have heard, getting this and the pop filter and shock mount immediately as soon as it is back in stock
The wave 3 has noticeably more detail in the high end, whereas the wave 1 lacks the same clarity. If you are using this just to stream raw audio, there will be no noticeable difference. If you are using vocal processing effects prior to sending this to OBS, or using this mic for double duty in music production, the 3 will be much better to work with.
Just so you know, you are my favorite content creator for reviews, I get to know what I need to know before purchasing anything in regards with the item.
Thank you for taking the time to reveiw the software and explain the input/output functionality. I have been looking for a good music solution for streaming and this seems to be exactly what I have wanted.
tbf at 100%, with a bit of background audio reduction, it sounds great for podcasts at 3, perfect for streaming, 4 if you're just chilling and using it for voice chat
To do this stuff back in 2016 I literally had to download audio router and vac and route everything everywhere and this solves all those issues so simply.
Kinda like their Streamdeck ... it's just a single screen with see-through buttons. Could probably make it yourself for 50 or less (10, if you don't mind just a touchscreen), it's the software and service you tend to pay for.
nice video yes very nice the best most good magnificent content much love. also i feel like yesterday frank had only 400k subs...and now he's at 1.5M?? keep doin your thing frank!
I mean, the video was already great, but i'd be lying if I didnt admit seeing you rock Aesop is what got me to hit that Like button.... that album is killer
To anyone interested in this mic or shopping for nice mics, install rtx voice to pair with your mic. It uses ai to filter out background noise and in my experience it works perfectly to filter out my fan, key clicks, and even an OK job filtering out background music.
This mic works great with XSplit Broadcaster. Also a great mic in general for chatting on games if you are someone who doesn't like wearing headphones for long periods of time like myself. Even without the suppression settings, it still does a descent job keeping background noise from intruding. I have the Wave 3, but I'm sure the Wave 1 is just as well made, just less features built in.
all im saying is i would want the wave 3 at this minute over the 1 but its $139 on amazon right now and the wave 1 is $50 so yea wave 1 right now is perfect
@@dashofawesome64 my only problem was that it didn't hahah. took me a while to find the right stuff. thought until recently that hardware input 3 was pay to use :/ works perfect now tho
@@lntg There is no point in getting XLR, it requires so much more and this microphone is perfect anyways what do you mean, GOXLR has been sold out for the past 3 months and it is extremely overpriced, $500 for a mixer plus $229 for a mic and then another $100 for a boom arm and then another $30 for a pop filter and then xlr cable, that is not worth it compared to just a $160 mic and $70 for pop filter and stand plus $100 for a boom arm, oh and the GOXLR stand is another $100 so yeah no I'm good, when they actually put it on sale then it will be worth it. Also XLR isn't even that much better lol, this mic is really good for a USB mic, best I've heard
On the promotion video for this mic there was still noticeable clipping when the clipguard was activated however on here it seems like it did its job because that audio was still pretty good when you were shouting
how come i have the same mic and yours sounds so much better i think its because i am not talking loud enough. Like when you breath in it feels/sounds so good AM I THE ONLY ONE?
$130 and $160 is pretty good pricing for these, provided they become available at that listed price (no official sellers on amazon or their own site). Quality sounds pretty good, but I can't imagine having no gain control on the Wave 1. I use an XLR mic myself and can't really live without on-board gain control (not 'mic volume').
I can hear a slight difference between the mics, not using headphones, the 3 is slightly better sounding, to me the 1 is a little muffled is how I would describe it
The software seems amazing but the audio quality seems pretty disappointing for that price. Honestly, I sort of expected more from a mic that _Lewitt_ helped develop. *And I don't think the software justifies that high price.* Especially since there seem to be good free software mixers out there. The t bone USB mics thomann makes seem like way better and cheaper options to me.
What's interesting, if you are buying the Wave mics with all the accessories, you can bundle them with the Wave 3 and get it cheaper than the Wave 1 with all the accessories.
The 96khz vs 41/48khz is more for the editing side of things in post production. Like for music vs video use cases, just depends what youre trying to record and what you want to do with it afterwards.
the 3 sounds a bit richer to be honest. but not alot of difference. i see a wave 3 for 90 bucks on used market in the netherlands. thinking i might pick it up after i test it at the guy's house.
i had my virtuosos running the whole video, while conected to usb-c. i had it in windows with 96khz on and i didnt heard a diffrenz. so if i cant hear a diffrenz with a 200€ headphone, most will go the same way as me. i had an ear check a half year ago and have average ears and pick up sound like average (bad english right there, im german...). most use headphone up to 100€, which mostly means they arent better than the virtuoso so basically what im telling is, the microphone is very good and u cant hear a diffrenz between the 1 and the 3. better get a the wave 1 (as i will do it) because the value is better there at around 140€ in germany with the wave 1 vs 170€ with the wave 3
We need a microphone you can place further away.. there are shotgun mics but there’s basically only the rhode that is usb. For me it’s a real inconvenience to either have to bow down to talk, or have a mic arm floating in front of my face. I’d rather have something that can clamp on top of my monitor
I got the Wave 1 today at Micro Center, I haven’t used it yet but can’t wait to, thanks for this guide/tutorial. Definitely gonna come back to this for more info.
@@paradoxptero263 I would say that the wave 1 is really good if you know how to set it up in the wave link software, you can equalize your voice and add noise impression and other effects. Bu tI would also say the wave 3 is perfect for people that don't have a stream deck. So in the end the wave 3 costs more and the wave 1 is almost the same. I haven't done much research on the differences in quality. Check the youtube channel @Alpha Gaming for more info on that kind of stuff.
If you have this mic i recomend this must buy so you dont yank your usb cable (RWOOW Right Angle Type C USB 3.1 Adapter Extension) Its on amazon so you dont runin your cable or your mic
