I am a Tide fan to the bone. Last season I enjoyed watching Mizzou more than any other team. That group of kids played so hard for each other. IMO that always begins with the HC. From that mile and a half kick to beat K St. to the Cotton bowl that team was pure joy to watch. Great job Coach Drink. Great job JP and the Late Kick crew. Hope the whole series is as good as this one.
@brianroyster7510 As a Mizzou Alum I appreciate other teams (especially Alabama) and appreciate it when a fan crosses boundaries and enjoys our team. We have a lot of work to do and a lot to prove. I hope that we continue to play with the heart evident last season.
Great interview Josh, as usual. I just have to say, Coach Eli Drinkwitz can easily transition in a Commissioner role if he decides to not coach again. He's bright, pragmatic, and likable. I'm an Ole Miss Rebels fan, but I have to give good props where credit is due. Awesome job!
Great coach! Was introduced to him when he beat the pants off my Buckeyes and was thoroughly impressed with his approach to his players and the University. Great interview Josh. Love your channel!
You guys had the best defense we had seen all year. I mean Georgia had a really good defense but your teams was better than any team we played that year. And with the recruits you got I doubt even Georgia will be able to stop you this year.
@@Thisismyhandle8383 buddy, OSU had 14 players opt out of the Cotton Bowl. Mizzou had 3. OSU lost their starting qb, both of their backup rbs, and two of their star receivers. And that’s just offense. During the game OSU had their 2nd string qb and starting rb get injured. But because OSU’s backup rbs left, their starter was literally forced to play of a broken foot. Don’t even try to compare the two. You have no idea what you are talking about 😂 The only part of OSU that wasn’t decimated was their Defense. That’s probably why they held mizzou (a top 10 SEC team) to just two scores in the final 10 minutes of the ENTIRE game. The portal and NIL are ruining this sport. Drinkwitz literally talked about this in the video.
I have listened to a few in depth interviews with Eli Drinkwitz and always come away impressed. I can understand how he would be successful going into living rooms and explaining what is important to him and the Mizzou program - then he backs it up with execution on the field. Maybe an SEC championship is around the corner.
@@Ghost_618nationtell us what he's rated. Offer some facts to back your opinion. He just wrapped up a top 10 season at Mizzou. The Missouri Tigers finished #8. Not in the SEC, #8 in the nation. That's impressive to everyone that knows anything about CFB and doesn't spend their free time being an Internet dickhead.
@brianroyster7510 I mean outside of that 10 win season there's really not much there, yes I know it's Missouri so any success is always going to be a bit more "impressive" however Missouri lost some key coaching staff members om the defensive side of the ball if they can go out next year and repeat that same success then yeah I think he would definitely be in the convo of most underrated coaches, but imo it's just too early to claim he's anything more than an average coach who doesn't have a whole lot of upside as far as overall program goes.
@@Bubbles--- sounds like you didn't watch that team play. If you had you would have seen a very well coached team. Mizzou ain't exactly a talent magnet. CED always gets good QB play out of a kid. Not Elite 11 kids. Kids that he has coached up. And he's a young coach. Really still learning how to run a program. Not like Kirby who spent 10-12 years under the Goat learning before taking an HC position. With the advantage he had it still took Kirby 5 years to put the puzzle together. And that's in a place that oozes D1/P4 talent. Dude is a really good coach and you ain't doing anyone any good disparaging the guy.
@brianroyster7510 I'm not even necessarily hating on the dude I'm js outside of last year he has been fairly average (theres literally no denying that), and Missouri isn't expected to be as good in 24' so I think next season will really tell If he's a good coach or not that being said i do put him at a disadvantage simply because Missouri doesn't have the foundation a lot of other programs do (like you said they're not exactly a talent magnet) again he could end up being an "underrated" coach but it's just too early to make that assumption imo.
As a Tar Heels fan, I think one of the biggest mistakes UNC made was letting this guy leave the state. I guess they thought they were too good to poach NCSU's OC. 😑
In 2025 we Boomer Sooner's are also looking forward to hosting you and Mizzou Tiger Fans! OU Stadium has also changed. Which is walking distance from my Norman home sweet home.@@toddalexander1903
My last OU vs at Missouri trip for football was 2006 in 2007 we played for the BIG 12 Championship at San Antonio Texas. Was also at that game@@22schwerb
He did that game! If you get the back story it was agreed upon before hand if the team stood on business! You can tell he didn't really want to, but he said he wasn't going to back out on his players. Plus Heuple ran the score up two years in a row. Called timeout with a minute left in one of them. Crazy!!!
Dude..... They won 11 games last year including a New Year's six bowl. It was the most successful season Missouri's had in decades, sure it's not the sexiest of names, and to be quite honest I actually hate Missouri but even I can't deny what he's done.
@@timebomb42 I mean, Mizzou has been in the SEC championship game twice since joining. Not the most successful season in decades, but your point stands.
@@ShowMeFB I think the only SEC season they had that was more successful than this was when they went 11-1 and lost in the 2013 SEC championship game, they were so close to being undefeated that year. That missed extra point versus South Carolina must have been absolutely devastating.
Missouri is a beautiful state. You clearly have never ventured around the state and enjoyed the mountains, the lakes, the caves, the wineries etc. I have to assume you haven’t really experienced the state.
Coach Drink is a putz. Remember a couple weeks ago when he went to the UT Mizzou BB game and tried to troll Tennessee. LMAO. Mizzou got embarrassed. And he tried to troll Heuple after beating Tennessee for the first time ever. He's a mid level coach at a mid level school and always will be.

@tarheelsooner3920 We'll see. That's why you have to play the game (and the season). But how does he get to last year's record as a fraud coach? What would it take for you to change your mind?
