As the hours pass by, Jesus’ greatest act of love draws near.
On Good Friday, many Filipinos commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. It is a day to reflect and honor the sacrifice Jesus has selflessly committed out of His love for us. Today, may we take the time to humbly acknowledge all of the sufferings He has gone through in the name of our sins. Now is the perfect moment to feel thankful for the everlasting love He has professed to us on the cross.
To honor this sacred day, we will be sharing a rendition of Eli, Eli, composed by György Deák-Bárdos. The piece features chromatic movement and subtle shifting chord structures, reflecting the intense emotions of Christ as he utters “Eli, Eli, lama sabacthani?”, which roughly translates to “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
