Populating many sea anemones with 40 "nemo" clown fish, but the veteran residents are not welcoming... need to act before it's too late! Music: www.bensound.c...
I have always heard that clownfish of all varieties are insanely territorial so I'm not really surprised the bigger clownfish didn't appreciate the new residents. Hope the old clownfish make it to a good home.
Tomato clowns are especially territorial. Aggressive fish go in last! You'd think someone with that kind of set-up would know that. Also anemones are added before corals, because they will move around sting other things.
For ocellaris clowns there will be a picking order but adding anemones like he did will help reduce territory issues and stress. Look up the clown harem bulk reefsupply did. The more anemones the better
Maroon clowns and Clarki clowns are by far the most aggressive and will try to kill other clowns. Putting that many clowns in a tank, even this large, is asking for trouble because they will stress out trying to establish dominance.
@@michaelconway644 Or he already knew about it and hoped with a tank that size they might let it slide. Do you really think somebody with a reef tank like that is a noob? Do you never decide to change the direction you are taking a tank?
That’s exactly what it is, but yknow. Sometimes you gotta choose. My guess is he has another tank that he can put them in, or he’s gonna sell them. Idk tbh this is the first video I’ve watched of his
@@DomF421 Alot of times you can take the aggressor out, QT them for a while and reintroduce them, and they being the new fish will be alot less aggressive (because they don't have established territory any more). So they may indeed just be getting a time out.
yeah probably just a time out for the larger more aggressive fish with established territories. The same thing can happen in Cichlid tanks. I even place them into a bucket for a few hours if I see 1 fish dominating another with no breaks, it really helps reset their temperament.
More like a timeout, whenever we had an issue in our bigger salt water tank, we'd take the aggressor into a quarantine tank for a day, and while they were there we'd move around a few rocks or décor. Then the next day when the aggressive fish is reintroduced their territory is no longer there. So they will find a new little spot instead of fighting for their old one, didn't always work but helped with some of the territorial fish.
Would love even some simple videos like: maintenance, feedings, plans for the future, or even just 3 hours of your tank so I can set it as a background to some music while I work.
If I was ever rich, a tank this size would be in my present, except that I would want one a bit more wider so I could just sit at the bottom inside and watch.
@@svenporsche123 with the way ppl are destroying the reefs aquarium keepers are probably the ones who are going to have to reintroduce these fish back into the wild in a few decades
@@michaelconway644 dude maroon clowns have made me bleed for sticking my hand in their tank. Might wanna step that out to 4m... Occellaris rarely get that aggressive, but a damsels is a damsel and they will definitely go to war if provoked
I’m not sure I’ve ever seen this done before from underwater. This is pretty cool to watch unlike most things on RU-vid. I mean imagine going for a morning swim to feed your feed barehanded
Sometimes I think of people out there going 'I wonder what the guy across the street is doing RIGHT NOW?' Hahaah, they'd never guess the answer. Neighbours and their private, best lives! Love it. Yesterday I watched a guy parade his new wetsuit and waterproof gear in front of a tripod-mounted camera. He bought new shoes, everything, so he could join his Asian Short Claw River Otter for his weekend mountain river swimming excursions. He looked exactly like a ninja-- oh and he had his otter perched on his shoulder the whole time he happily modelled his new gear. Again, I laughed to imagine his next door neighbours wondering what he might be up to on a normal, lonely ol' Wednesday evening at home.
WOW.. are you frigging kidding me Eli. Making me all peanut butter and jealous. That is totally amazing. I am so impressed, and I will never complain about cleaning my tanks again. Whats next in there a whale shark 🦈?
Oh my gosh this is so totally awesome. Have an outdoor saltwater aquarium in a warm climate that can be seen in the living room inside. Oh my gosh and actually going in there and feeding the fish by hand. Oh my gosh
imagine, here in Canada, pet stores are legally not allowed to sell medicine for ANY pets anymore. So when we have ick, or fin rot, we gotta salt the tank and add indian almond leaves. Frickin herbal medicine for fish.
@@justjess6636 Stupid laws i guess. says on google: "This ruling is to prevent the emergence and spread of antimicrobial-resistant infections caused by the over usage of antimicrobials in veterinary medicine." So it was to affect vets, but it had a broader affect. I asked our cats vet about it, and he said he could maybe find out if there's medicine available, but otherwise, no idea. Government looks at fish like the people on Tik Tok do. No respect.
This is one of the most amazing video I have ever seen Where you have your hobby and you are so creative in it Respect to you my friend all the way from the other side of the world You rock and your amazing 🙌🙏🙌 Please keep going 👍👍
Just wow! I was quite pleasantly surprised when you uploaded, keep it up! Maybe some more feeding videos? The bottle feeding of the big fish almost brought tears to my eyes. Really amazing!
I had a 75 gallon reef tank and a tomato clown among other fish. It was extremely aggressive. I picked up a tiny maroon gold stripe anemone (via mail order) though to keep the tomato clown from bullying the new resident I got rid of the tomato clown since the size difference was too great & also since 75 gallon isn't that big I figured it was the best decision. After all done & said... it was a smart choice and that maroon gold stripe as tiny as it was, when I first placed it in the tank, took some time before making the anemone it's home. The tomato would attack my hand when working in the tank so I figured the little one would need all the help it could get and to this day the maroon gold stripes are my favorite. What did you end up doing with the clowns that you pulled out of your tank? You have an amazing setup and the view from your room is to say the least... breathtaking! How long did it take to put that all together and how long have you been running that setup?
How I missed ur channel.... really exited to see .... R they ocean creatures or pet dogs rushing towards him ,just one thing missing can't find their tail wagging at him... That Lil guy was like Papa don't leave me here I will stick with u😃😍
Can't imagine having to put on a diving suite and jump in just to maintain my tank lol. Ah crap that plant has moved, better get the diving gear out and jump in.
@@briannaharter4411 yeah but the red doesn't startle them. Not sure as to why. Learned it from an actual aqarium staff. When they would catch fish they would dive the tank at night with re flashlights. Something about the red doesn't startle them apparently. Agian not sure why, just got passed the info by a 30 year marine biologist.
