I was raised a Christian but I went through a phase where I lost my relationship with God and an endless string of events for the past almost 10 years of my life now has been bringing me closer and closer to God. I was blessed enough to get a job with an airline which allowed me to fly quite a few times to the beach. And this song speaks so much to my own experience. I just remember sitting there in astonishment taking it all in and realized this is all the proof I need and God is all around me if I look. I'm so glad my eyes were opened.
Being from Florida, I grew up on the Gulf Coast. The closest I have felt to God and my Savior is sitting at the top of a 30 foot bluff on the top step of the stairs leading to the white sand. The moon glistening off the calm Gulf water. A gentle breeze. And just taking in all of God’s creations on Earth and in the heavens that I can see. And not a soul in sight. It’s just God, Jesus, and me. That’s as close to perfection I have found in this life. I just heard this song for the first time and I can totally relate. Y’all should have filmed this video in the Panhandle of Florida. White sand and emerald green water. Maybe next video. Seagrove Beach, Florida 10/23.
My son died went to a place wasn't heaven they brought him back left us again they brought him back again he was in the hospital a week came home heard this song I asked him why he listened to it so much he said it reminded him of HEAVEN
I just heard this song and I know God put it on the radio as I was walking in my room. I’ve always said I’ve felt closest to God at the water. I was having a hard day today and I heard this song and it just reminded me that he’s always right beside me. Thank God, I and my family are children of his.
I’m agnostic and have always loved this song. “I’m as close to god as I can get” hits a certain way. Just being one with nature and soaking in its wonders is enough to make you feel something deep in the soul
May God be with you and carry you and bless you according to his will for you in your life. He will Never leave you or forsake you. I used to have an alcohol addiction. By God's powerful and amazing Grace, I am set free from that addiction. I also had my whole colon, rectum, and thyroid removed after multiple illnesses. Again, God was so totally right there with me through that whole life journey.
I just discovered this song, and it is now my theme song, describes me to a T. I cannot thank you all enough for writing and producing this. I went and immediately bought the Mp3 upon hearing it, and then I had to make my own video set to it also here on You-tube. I hope I did you proud
As somebody who has ever seen the ocean twice & lives in the middle of the United States (The Gulf of Mexico, at Gulf Shores & the Atlantic, when I visited Coco Beach with my wife) This song transports me to those times on the beach, the feeling is wonderful, it makes me appreciate life. I love the ocean, the beach, the people, the south/south east. This song is so good, idk how it’s not more popular
Theres something about being out in nature that just makes me shiver. Sometimes you just realize just how powerful God is. And you can feel it. I feel like this song explains that feeling of awe
This song is one of the best songs I have honestly ever heard and I love all music from metal to hip hop to country and this song gets me choked up, reminding me that all the loved ones that I have lost over my years are only waiting in paradise for me to meet with them and knowing that we all have something great to look forward to.
I belive in god i belive in heaven i belive in in my ability That is how i made it through 5th grade from bullies never let anyone take you down one word can take people down one word can take people up be careful out in the real world.
There's not a man on this planet that enjoys the salt water more than me. But, after what a loving savior did for me on a cruel and rugged cross, there's not a chance on this earth, that I would trade a day in church for salt water. Christ says, if you love me, keep my commandments, ( forsake not the assembling of yourselves together) if you don't, go find some salt water
I had a very tough winter with my “best friend” who no joke iced me out for 9 weeks! When this song comes on, my frown goes away and sing and have the best time ever! Thank you!
This song is amazing. I’m not a fan of the church and I feel closest to God just by being out in his creation. I hate that people think that you absolutely have to go to a church to be close to god, some of the most spiritual people I know never go
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. - Hebrews 10:24-25 We are called to worship corporately together. Yeah doesn't have to be in a building but definitely has to be with a body of believers in person.
Thank you Trenton to saying what the Bible says! I don’t mind that we can be close to God anywhere we go but God wants us to meet together as believers. This video has implied that church is bad. I found the Lord in a church with some loving people. I have grown in learning the word in the church. I agree that you don’t have to meet in a building but you do have to meet to learn & grown & encourage each other in the Lord.
Anyone else notice that at 0:33 when the lyrics go "save my soul" it focuses on the redhead? Refreshing to see such depth of irony in such a moving song. Soulless ginger jokes aside, great song.
September 2020 - I managed to escape to the Caribbean for four weeks. Couldn't go out at night due to COVID, so most nights I was sippin' drinks on my porch with Radio Margaritaville blasting from the BT-speaker. And that's where I discovered this little gem of a song. As far as I'm concerned, 2020 can fugg right off ... except for that month spent on the island... :)
Powerstroke87 mentioned Destin, FL. A couple years ago we stayed in a RV resort in Miramar Beach. Next to us was a good old fashioned Gospel church next door. I was sitting on the patio under the awning on a Sunday morning listening to the rocking Gospel music!! It was beautiful and entertaining. I thought of this song wondering if this wasn't good old saltwater Gospel music.
Ok Im not into well nor religiuous. ButtThis song is one that inspires and lifts me up make me feel good like summer is here and coming ATTTTTTTTT Eli young band This is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember an event 16 or 17 years ago when I was in law school. They drove up from Texas to play at a private event for our class. A guy in our law class went to UNT and asked them to come up. Mamasitas in OKC. Was great.
Describes me perfectly. I just discovered this song about a month ago, thanks to Sirius XM Buffett channel. I happen to live in the mile range where you can make could make it a day trip to the ocean, but just far enough away where it isn’t an easy endeavor. (350 mile round trip). But I get to feel like I’m there listening to this song.
