Kinda creepy if you think about it. He's pretty much admitted to eating human, and when asked to turn into something he considers human size he turns into a child.
One bite snack. When running away from a bear, it’s not important to be the fastest, just gotta be faster than the last person. Children have short legs. Humans can be pretty shit towards their children. And all beasts are hungry. Creepy, maybe. Inevitable, absolutely.
I know he isn’t, but the way they presented him walking out of a snowstorm combined with his appearance at the time, makes him look a helluva lot like a Wendigo.
@@jamesdthorn790 Where is it clearly implied? Episodes and scenes? Or if its a manga spoiler give me a little warning first then tell me, I kinda want to know. I know this show is pretty loyal to the actual depictions of folklore and a real Wendigo is that of a frozen man; but the fantastical Wendigo is well exactly what Elias is, albeit, Elias is alot less primal or at least has ability to restrain himself. Idk what a Wechuge is, I'll look it up later. Edit: I was looking around for European Wendigos and I found this thing called a Leshy. From what I gathered it say it's a shape-shifting forest spirit that abducts abused kids. Seems pretty close but doesn't explain the implied canabilism.
@@jamesdthorn790 Same. We are not 100% sure that he is a Windigo. We did not see his full past. Maybe he could be the result of an experiment gone wrong or he is a form of corruption
He really isn't though. According from the manga, he has a wolf skull with goat horns. When transforming into his monstrous form, he has a lot of animals combined in him. Cartaphillus seems to know him more than anyone. In my theory, Elias could be a successful version of a chimera.
Ah... didn't pay attention until now: So "Lindel" must be the name that his master gave him, he called himself "Rahab"... does anyone know the history behind the name?
Not sure about Lindel but Rahab is an important name in judeochristian mythos. She was a woman from the city of Jericho who hid Israelite spies in her home so they could spoke out the city (this was when they were headed out of the wilderness and to the promised land). In exchange for her kindness the Israelites agreed to spare her and her family when they conquered he city. By then people had heard of Joshua leading his people through and bulldozing people that got in their way so she made a smart choice. She signaled them to retrieve her and her family with a red cord (like how Lindel and Elias found the Rahab in this show) and she joined the Israelites in their journey afterwards. Incidentally, she also is part of the ancestral line of future King David and by extension: Jesus Christ. That’s all I got.
