I do not consider myself a fashion snob by any means necessary, but the only time I have ever been brought to literal tears while watching a fashion show, was Alexander McQueen's final collection of "Angels & Demons". The pure craftsmanship of every piece in that collection was BEYOND genius and I knew, that what I was witnessing was HISTORY in the making. Thier will never be another designer that could captivate the very essence of my soul, the way that McQueen did. This world will never see anything that amazing ever again and unfortunately for those of us, who percieve their reality as a moving piece of art....it was a one time thing, never to be recreated or experienced again. A visual love affair, that completely transcended you beyond this time space reality and directly into the AFTERLIFE. I still get chills to this day, when I see that golden feather Icarus coat that he made, as apart of the collection. These were not clothes that you wear, nor were they just 'simply' Haute Couture; but something of a much more elevated and unspecified nature. McQueen, was like the Nikola Tesla of the fashion world and he was way ahead of this time period. However, this collection is Haute Couture by current standards and is definitely stunning non the less, but these are clothes that you wear when you want to make a 'statement', to claim your social status within the heirarchy of modern society...Queen Elizabeth style 😎 So, yes one would cry upon seeing this collection and not being able to afford them because, let's be honest...who, doesn't want to feel like Disney royalty for a day?! But, by next season this collection will be forgotten. Why? Because, this collection was created with the intention of appeasing the human ego, but NOT to stroke your soul.

He's been coming up with the same collection for years now. It's about time he did something different. While no one can doubt his sewing skills he just never goes beyond the princessy looks and ball gowns and sheer fabrics and sihlouettes. I wish he dared to explore a bit further in clothes making rather than sticking with embroidery and playing it safe.

@Madeline Grudens Simply because he was born with this culture from North Africa the land where The Siberians (of Scythia), the Turkics (All Asia minor traders and the Ottoman empire)and the Persians(Iran) all the Empire of design and making fabrics and architectures, embroideries, pottery, painting, arts, great craftsmanship, in the land where they all meet together and trade with Lybia and the Arabs. This fabric culture and jewellery is a culture of 10 000thousands years old in North Africa. And Elie Saab, Zuhair Murad are both Lebanese, they may have Turkics and Persian blood too. But all in all it is their culture. And Iran and the Middle East are in Africa as North East Africa and Gulf countries land before the Crusades and attack on destroying the Ottoman Empire, then they won and change that area not Africa but middle East just short resume in history. But most of the Arabian culture comes from Turkics and Siberians heritages

He is clever, naturally talented, and in this collection he has the foresight to see rich and powerful people in the east being the dominate wealthy customers over the next few decades, so has given this collection an oriental emphasis, to establish his name for the wives of the wealthy men in that part of the world. 👍

Brad Wolf yeah, some of these are nice, not everything has to be “wearable” or have lots of ornaments, depending on each collections. anyway, they have lots of designers to choose from, if none made you happy then probably need to make it yourself

Squizree yes because if you didn’t notice the collection was hugely inspired by Asian culture from the silhouette to the textiles, even the hair and makeup resembles ancient asians, so it is appreciated that they actually hired asian models and let an asian model close the show 😊

@@gabec8229 Yes it's not very hard to know that the collection has Asian references. I was just too busy appreciating the craft and and beauty of the collection, to really care about something as trivial as the race of the model closing the show. I suppose it does adds a nice degree of "authenticity" to the collection, but apart from that I care more about the talent than something so cosmetic.
