As a fan of the original fragrance who I gave to my best friend for her wedding day, I wanted to see if this one was good too, and it was! Get this fragrance here... www.notino.com/... www.notino.co.u...
This is a gorgeous, opulent perfume composed by none other than the amazing Francis Kurkdjian, and I think it is every bit as lovely as any fragrance he created for Maison Francis Kurkdjian if not more so. The delicious rose honey in this one is handled totally differently than in APLS. This fragrance is pure magic. It would be a crime against humanity if they ever stopped making this fragrance. :)
Thank you so much for clarifying the difference between the two. I nearly bought the intense, but as you said you prefer the original I bought it and Im absolutely in love with it - cant stop sniffing my wrists !! Thank you for posting Deb xx
I'd love to see a review of the Resort Collection flanker. It's quite dissimilar from the others, and it's got some lovely fig in it. It's very smooth and bright and still had that sweetness, but it's not cloying. It's one of the few aquatic fragrances I actually enjoy. (And the bottle is so pretty!)
Thanks Ami! :) I think the original is still best of all the ones I have tried. The couture one (green) is really pretty. I'd like to try the ones he released in the square bottles? Have you seen them? They look very pretty. :)
+ouch110 Fragrance Reviews I only have L'eau Couture, I love almond so that's why I chose to buy that one in particular. I am really curious about his exclusive line but unfortunately they are nowhere to be found here. I am hoping I get to see them in the airport when i'm travelling soon 🤗😊
They are very different. :) The Serge one is kinda a more realistic Orange blossom especially in the dry down. The opening is a bit weird hehe. But yes, the Elie saab is much sweeter and a more easy-to-like commercial orange blossom that is somehow dulled, but still beautiful. :)
I like all Elie Saab perfumes, Kurkdjian is very talented. :) I think my favorite one is the edt. :) Latest Rose version is lovely too. I also have the Resort flanker, but still can't make up my mind about it, it's a little bit too sweet for me. Reminds me of 90's perfumes (but in a good way). ;)
i do tend to like floral fruity ambery kind of smells Elie saab is going to be a blind buy so what do you suggest which one should i get in white or the le parfum
I noticed the original has cedar whereas this doesn't. A few months ago I tried the original and I loved it except for the cedar note, would you say that this version is free from that nose stingy cedar-y note?
I wouldn't say free from (cedar is present in 85% of ALL fragrances) but this one seems to have been smoothed out quite a bit. Deffo give it a sniff! :)
Sorry for coming 2 years later lol, but is it true that the EDP projects more than the intense version? I have read so many confusing infos. I bought 3 bottles of 90ml of the intense (for me mum and aunty) and I'm starting to regret it (It's too late to cancel my order) I need some projection and sillage because of my work ;) Thanks love
Sorry but I can’t believe anyone would like Ellie Saab le Parfum . It smells like bug spray that you can’t get out of your nose. It is awful. Maybe it’s the amber or the honey that’s so bad but I usually like amber -- this one is horribly synthetic. My opinion but I’ve heard others who don’t like it either. Oh well. No returns for fragrance on Amazon.
Hey, you're not alone. I dislike ES Le Parfum, too! This is a very jasmine-dominant scent & my nose is repelled by (too much) jasmine, especially the heavy, boozy jasmine sambac. Got a problem with the prickly cedar note as well, so basically this scent & I friends cannot make. Amber replaces cedar in the Intense version, so it must be the cedar note you're reacting to in the original. And the honey....can't stand that syrupy-sweet note either. I first smelled honey in Red Door & I've detested it ever since..... Have you tried ordering perfumes from the walmart site? Walmart allows me to return perfumes (if under $150) within 30 days, plenty of time to test them. So far, I've returned 4. Next week, I will pick up Charlie Gold which apparently is similar to the original Trésor but with more spice & amber, less floral. If it's a 'fail', back it goes!
@@ouch110 No aversion to orange blossom; I love that note which I enjoy in my (black) bottle of NR For Her & in the vintage Jovan Musk. Anyway, a miracle! I re-tested that sample of Le Parfum this morning & now I must recant my former opinion. I love it!! This time I spritzed it only once, cleavage area or décolleté as the French say, & allowed the scent to bloom upward to my nose. Mind you, 1 spray is plenty enough as this juice is a juggernaut! So then a distinct Chanel no.5 vibe infiltrated my senses, but with a twist. Le Parfum is warmer, earthier, more approachable than the equally elegant no. 5, which, sophisticated as it is, is to my nose, cooler, more aloof, formal, standoffishly classy. I figure it's the patchouli-honey combo in Le Parfum, plus the absence of aldehydes, that gives it that warm, earthy quality lacking in no.5--which was my signature scent in my early 20s. Oddly enough, Le Parfum, to my nose, smells MORE like the vintage no.5 than its current counterpart. I own the no.5 EDT & it has that distant, impersonal quality, it's sharper, a touch bitter, almost bug-sprayish, as some say. I rarely wear it these days as my current signature is CK Obsession. My tastes run to the spicy orientals now. So on my must-try list is: Must de Cartier (1981), MDC-Gold (2015), Shalimar (1925), Lou Lou (1987, apparently like an oriental Poison), Diamonds & Rubies (1993), Passion/Opium/Youth Dew--but these 3 may be too skanky-animalic-heavy for my taste. I wonder how the Intense flanker for Le Parfum differs from its antecedent? I'm not sure how I'll respond to ylang ylang-amber replacing the jasmine-cedar; otherwise it appears the 2 versions share the balance of all notes. Which do you prefer & why? And have you experienced any of the perfumes on my aforementioned must-try list? I read online that Diamonds & Rubies is gaining in popularity lately as the rose note is making a comeback, especially in a rose-oud combo. D&R is a well blended peachy spiced rose with a Moroccan/Arabian vibe, or so I heard. Not sweet. Very affordable. And a Sophia Grojsman creation! She's the nose behind Trésor, hence my interest in Charlie Gold which shares many of that classic's notes but is more unisex-leaning. I'll soon found out. :)
