I freaking love this one Tumblr comment that's like "Jack Black provides a voice in Psychonauts 2, but not for a great amount of time. Because, you know, it's JACK BLACK. Which makes sense. Except the time where he's NOT voicing himself, he's being voiced by Elijah Wood." I feel like this is a good lesson; make games that are genuinely good, to the point that actual effing celebrities are fans of them, and then ask them to provide voicework to one, and they'll just be like "No problem!"

Man, with Elijah AND Jack Black, it took me almost half the game to figure out it was them voicing the characters. I'm normally really good at recognizing voices. Also 5:32 Raz idle animations of doing stunts is adorable!

Jack Black was immediately recognizable, but yeah, I didn't realize that was Elijah Wood until very late in the game. You don't have any reason to think Nick is an important character at first, so you don't expect him to be voiced by anyone famous.

I love little things like that. In the first game you can find one of Coach Oleander’s memories vaults in his head, he kind of wants you to find it. It showcases all of his heroics during wartime. It later turns out to be complete bullshit, but an early hint that this memory vault is fabricated is that he’s SUPER TALL in EVERY picture. It’s something I honestly didn’t notice til like my third or fourth play through.

If I had known long before that Elijah Wood would be voicing in this game, I would’ve immediately called him out as playing the the bad guy. Because it’s freaking Elijah Wood! I feel like we got the best of both worlds with gay representation. Fullbear was artistic and flamboyant, and Bob was more reserved and conventional. That’s the right way to go about it as a writer, you don’t just slip it in, or just revel in it at max volume, you have a range like in real life.

(Spoilers!) As soon as I heard “Nick’s” lines, I was like YOOO is that Elijah Wood?!?!? And I looked up his wiki page AND THE VERY FIRST LINES WERE SPOILIERS ABOUT HOW HE WAS THE MOLE. I was like ‘I Will Pretend I Did Not See That.’ But it definitely ruined the twist for me. I still enjoyed the game immensely though!!

I think he was planning on returning to his old body when he was done with Truman (which is why he had that personally mailed to Truman), but Raz broke the box and accidentally exposed him.

Never went this way and met them. I always did Cassie first for some reason and missed this dialogue. Glad my fermented idea got closure.

elijh does epic job of playing the villain...... plus the body role keke that i know as for grulovia.... sounds Eurasian and i should know im part Eurasian
