Granted, Carreras has sung with wonderful partners, but each sounds especially good when performing with him. His professionalism, finesse, and talent bring out the best in his partners as they together serve the spirit of the music. I think this is something the great Montserrat Caballe saw in Carreras early on and a reason she chose him as her tenor.

Carreras sabe cantar...y por eso no se mete donde no puede. Sólo un marcado caprinismo aparece de repente. En todo caso, un agrado escucharlo.

Elina genial, istriónica y con su bella voz y carisma de siempre. Carreras tieso como estaca. Se va a morir y aun no aprende a actuar. Con todo, es un milagro que siga cantando.
