She does. You know a character is talented when you can hate them so much and find them so ugly. It’s almost impossible to see the character as beautiful on the outside. And then there’s this :)
👩💻I am coming in late to this game and am inthralled with the acting ability of Elizabeth Moss. I binged all 4 seasons in one week. All the while wondering who OfFred reminded of. Pondering on this fact I finally realized who I was reminded of, Maureen O'Hara. Maureen O'Hara could tell her audience what she was thinking and going to do through her eyes and facial expressions without saying 2 words. I am glad to see such depth in acting returning to the Golden Screen. Much love and peace. 🙋♀️🪔🌠🐞🥰🇺🇲🇬🇧
@@siyeon170 oh haha, I thought it tied into something else my bad. yeah I really became obsessed with Yvonne since seing her in Chuck. Her character and everything about her is beautiful
I read the book and watched the series. Excellent, scary, and thought-provoking. When basic human rights and lives are taken away, in the name of power and religion, the result is not pretty. But, it IS pretty-horrifying.
Diana Lum Not True at all in any way - read up on the Crusades - read up on the torture and execution of all of the women falsely accused of being witches - read up on the torture and murder of the Cathars by the Church, read about the Spanish Inquisition, etc. ....
P.s., reread actual history about the rise of the Nazi regime, first they began experimentally executing mentally handicapped citizens and then they stirred up hatred mainly towards Jewish citizens, then Gypsys, Gays, and any kind, decent, people who sympathized or tried to help those persecuted, escape or hide. Sometimes theses heroic sympathizers happened to be Christians, Priests and Nuns. Many a “good Christian” either remained silent or were devoted Nazis as well as considered themselves as Christians. Those if us who support this show and book, may also be Christian or other religions, yet we do NOT want a Christian variety of Sharia law as is depicted in this book and show. The Puritans came here to America for religious freedom, yet they denied it to all others who didn’t believe as they did. Our Founding Fathers were wise and intelligent in installing separation of church and state in our Constitution. They were well aware of the very base nature of men who sought to control others in unwise and unkind ways.
I think Alexis Bledel has some kind of social anxiety issue. Or maybe its just when being interviewed , but she always looks sooooo terrified when theres a possibility she has to answer any kind of question. Ive watched a couple of her interviews and I was kinda suprised . I guess I was always expecting her to be more like a Rory Gilmore in real life lol.
Bless her heart, she is lovely. It makes a change from most of the big actresses so incredibly full of themselves. Alexis is so endearing both in the series and in interviews.
The woman who played ‘Serena Waterford’ is absolutely stunning beautiful and gorgeous! An elegant tall beauty. And Elisabeth Moss (after season one) became my favorite actress (along with Claire Danes ‘Homeland’) Elisabeth Moss is another beautiful woman who has the amazing acting gift of expressing any emotion with her face and head movements without speaking a word 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Portland Oregon USA 🇺🇸
The first woman you're talking about is Yvonne Strahovski and she's pretty phenomenal. Highly recommend some of her other work like Chuck, Dexter, and 24: Live Another Day.
Great show. I was creeped out by Joseph Fiennes at 1:30. Fantastic actor, but it reminded me of his role as Waterford. His condescending smirk indicative of his arbitrary authority over all under his control.
Thanks for the movies, shows made for us, women. Yes, we are numerous. Half of the population. And yes we do watch a lot of movies and all. And it is important and nice to see things that are not just romances, soap operas or with males as heroes and females as objects.
right? If he dindt want to give out anything then invent somenthing that doesnt sound you are mocking the question or be intellingt enough to give out something without doing it directly..I dont know, simply rude. He is probably being aclaimed way to much, that fame to got to him. Its the people in the audience that represent the viewers outside. Thanks to, he got that award...
my rights are taken away living as an adult with disabilities in Canada, the right to affordable safe housing, the right to steady paid employment, the right to buy healthy food, the right to fall in love and live with the person you fall in love with, the right not to be homeless, so I'm very much into this show, I can't do anything about my situation here but at least on this show they can fight for their rights.
lol I noticed that too, I feel like hes tryna say like eh we'll try to not let that happen but ya know we're not the government we don't have much say or eh if we even live till then.
She even looked terrified in the series, which made her role of Ofglen & Ofsteven even more believable & real! I thought she did an awesome job, playing her role, as well! They all did a great job!
I agree, it's VERY ironic! I wonder if it helped or hindered her, while she was filming, & trying to perfect the character of Offred/June? I gotta say, & please excuse my bad language, but she did a FanFuckinTastic job of playing June/Offred in the series! Elizabeth, you were so deserving of the Golden Globe, & more, I could cry tears of joy! You absolutely nailed the part! Blessed be sweet child & may the Lord open! Lmao Absolutely, just kidding! I meant it in a way, that more great acting roles come your way.. definitely not other people's babies! 😝 😝 😱 I remember seeing E. Moss in "Girl Interrupted", years ago, but haven't seen her in anything since, sure she was in other things, I just missed them. I always wondered what happened to her. Glad you're back with a Big Bang Elizabeth! 🙌💣👌💞
In the future, what their utopia is is ... wait for it ... socialism/communism. Yup, just like the Soviets. Hey, everyone suffered the same, right? So it was equal! ;)
Natalie Zayas-Bazan all of the things that have happened to women in the book (not a country etc) has or is happening to women at some point in time....do you know that female gential mutilation still happens...even in the U.S????
Eli Ess I watched part of it, not all of it. I couldn't go back and Edit dimwit and what is a Troll anyway and why always the names and labels, Oprah is speaking love of humanity why be opposed to that just because its Oprah. What I didn't like was that she said it was White Men, not that it makes a difference they were boys. That was the horrific times in America and those crimes and the court system and laws silenced women. No More! Eli the parts are the secret societies deeds, organized rape, kidnapping, abuse, oppression, slavery, murder.
Wow so sad, when artists are forced to turn everything they do into something about "Trump". In retrospect, at some point in the future, they might see how silly they sound. Or maybe not.
Half of America voted for Trump, yet you just assume everyone in the audience and the cast hate him! Can't imagine how many people you're offending with your assumptions.
dub, How do you "pay these people"? You send paychecks to their managers? Is that a really true statement? You erroneously sound like you personally pay these people, which is not true. And, Hollywood is going down hill fast, just because they makes a few movies that don't match your tastes? Really? Can you see how illogical that form or thinking is?
Mulu2, People act in movies because it's their job. That's why they are called actors, instead of dishwashers. Their job is to act. They sign a contract for their salary for the movie they are hired for and they play a character. Not sure what facts would support "they get a lot of money when that message resonates". Do you think they have a clause in their contract that say, "You get a bonus if this movie's message resonates???? Let's be truthful and logical.
Ell Ess i am truthful while you're simplifying out of your own limitations. You think just because someone offers you money you will lend your talent to their project? You get a contract upon agreeing, not before duh. And an agreement to be a part of a project comes with a slew of personal reasons. There is a reason why actors continue on to hold a variety of positions in the film industry. What motivates them to do that? They want to tell stories they care about, and stories all carry a message unless you live under a rock. You're probably stuck in 1920s film making :rolls eyes:
MULU, You wrote: "You think just because someone offers you money you will lend your talent to their project." Where did I say that? And, be careful when you assume to know what another person thinks, because you are not a mind reader. You do not know what I think or know. You also wrote: "You get a contract upon agreeing, not before duh." Where did I say anything about a time frame for a contract? Reading comprehension must not be a strength for you. Sorry about that. Or else, English isn't your 1st language. I have no idea.
Celinde Game of Thrones is a masterpiece but truthfully the acting in Handmaids Tale is better, that's because of the fact that they have to play more emotional scenes.
@@guswood6159 it won because it is a great show and there is great acting , i am sorry that women fighting for their rights and freedom get under ur skin .under his eye 👁
