Re: the first two sections There's either a wealth of information on how to observe, but none on how to evaluate those observations, or vice versa. Bob took seven shots. But what the hell happened? So I know how to find my dominant eye. How do I use that information? They never say. Great concepts to think about, but very little useful instruction. And lay off on the sound effects! The third section with the lady instructor, on the other hand, was very informative. She tells you what to look for AND what to do.
Hi coach, Im a fan from Thailand. I wonder about dominant eyes, since when i use my right hand to make a circle 👌, my dominent eye is on left-eye, but when i use my left hand to do the circle, my dominent eye on right. Pls assist me.. thank you 🙏
Leonard Martin the best way to fix that is to find a small nerf football, and practice throwing an underhand spiral. This will simulate the proper rotation. If you're right handed, start by placing the nerf football in your palm with your thumb at three o'clock. As you rotate your hand around the football, make sure your thumb finishes at 12 o'clock. Hope that helps!
You showed a dominate eye for a righty, but what about a lefty? I throw with my left, write with my right. I'm a lefty, with a right dominate eye. What about that?
Drills are always the way to go, however, I would have to see ball fit, form and identify causes. I would try keeping the back of you thumbnail against the back of the thumb hole and roll the ball at 50 percent until your comfortable not lofting
Lofting usually happens when you dont use you legs to deliver the shot, so ensure you have and keep knee bend while allowing the ball to roll off the front of your hand
@@allenthomas914 so when you slide into you final step before releasing ball keep your knee bend and let the ball roll off the hand as you follow through your target on the lane
As dees said, the first 2 sections tell us a lot by telling us nothing. I'm a right-handed bowler and am left eye dominant. What does this mean? Also.....how many of us are allowed the time and opportunity to take 14 shots (7 on each lane) before league play? Sad trombone....
Brad Carl The first two sections are more for tournament bowlers then league bowlers. Typically, tournament bowlers have a practice day before to get a feel for the lanes and oil pattern. If you're only bowling on the 38-41ft THS at your local bowling alley, the first two sections in this video won't be beneficial to you. As someone that bowls all over the country on multiple different patterns, the first two sections are very helpful.
Well I am not an expert. I just started 4 months ago but that's my case too. I have an average of 160. Even tho I am right handed, I bowl backhand from left to right. That's my solution to the problem. The "normal" way I get an average of like 120 only. Edit: From left to right is not really an answer. I'd better say my ball rotates to the right and not to the left side if that makes more sense.
the problem with that is you're trying to fix a problem with another problem. You're essentially throwing a back up ball to fix your aiming issue which will cause even more problems down the line.
When they discussed knowing your dominant eye. It was more of an informative topic then a rule of thumb. There are bowlers that swear up and down their hitting the target when their actually hitting 3-4 boards right or left of it. It's just something to consider if you don't already know to help make the proper adjustments.
What you would do is move your head the right show your right eye dominant eye is over your ball if your left handed right eye dominant. Thats coming from The Late great Coach John Jowdy!!!
