Still think PvP bounty hunting/ganking needs a rework. If a player has racked up a giant bounty then a hunter should get that entire profit. If the bounty is from multiple jurisdictions then make them redeem it from an interstellar contact like every other bounty. And of course if someone wants to be a ganker, make them pay insurance costs and galactic average cargo costs of the player they kill. And crank up the fines on gankers that kill another player so that it actually means something
Why would you make gankers pay a fine in game? You trying to deinsentivize pvp? Cause that's one step above just toggling pvp on/off in a game. If you put pvp in a game and you punish people for pvping then people will eventually stop pvping and the ones that continue will just be ganged up on. I agree, the hunter should get the full bounty though.
@@craigtheworst7202 If you don't want to PVP you can already join plenty of the PVE community servers where PVP'ers get banned or simply play on solo. You're acting like there isn't basically a toggle off.

SUPER late reply, I know, but this was actually a display issue, he got 283 million, but it only displays a small percentage of it. This appears to have been fixed in Odyssey, however.
@@GuyWithAHat this was intended in horizons. As for odyssey I don’t know I stopped playing last summer after all the nonsense. If Fdev did change it I’m glad. C&P was a joke. No reason at all to hunt criminals considering you had much more to lose than you could ever gain.
I think it says that because that is the bounty on the current system, but if you claim all the bounties form all the different systems then you will have the 283 mil
hm question: was it necessary to keep 2 pips in engines all the time? maybe 4-0-2 could work better at keeping shields on (and thus more durability -> can ram more often)
FDev didn't want two people to team up and transfer huge bounties/credits from 1 to the other. You can do that easily these days with a fleet carrier, but the basic bounty mechanic has never been updated. o7!

can someone explain why it says 13 million when he gets the kill but the bounty is 283M whatever. I see this all the time where the amount displayed there is smaller then what is actually awarded in the bounty voucher.
If new players careful follow the tutorials on RU-vid, they can already make 283 mil relatively easily. Putting artificial constraints in the game is a great way to diminish the sense of immersion and frankly piss people off. I’m assuming once the player is killed, the bounty resets to zero, so who cares who gets it? It’s not like that is enough money to unbalance the game. Why allow the bounty to grow that high if it can never be claimed?
Watched an FDL user living up to their ship's name (Fer-de-lance/iron of the lance) and also rams his opponent to death, but this.. this is more ballsy
That's not true, just not much they can do about a faster, more manoeuvrable ship picking them apart. TBH the Vette did well to get WG down as far as they did.
For the most part I just go to places that attract other players like Deciat or the other engineer systems or the CGs and scan everyone. It's hit and miss.
It's FDev's way of making sure your friend who just bought the game doesn't claim your huge bounty and become instantly rich. 2 Million credits per system is the maximum a bounty hunter can claim from a player. So if a player has racked up 20 Million, but evenly it's split between Sol and Shinrarta for example, the BH get 4 Million total. Then Interstellar factors takes a 25% cut.
1- forgot the hack activated little friend, 2- not to mention that your opponent is an idiot, interdicting a ship that runs faster than him would always be a target next to him ^^ 3- you don't gank an idiot who uses pylon, they use shitty ships, and it is guaranteed by the opponent's luck and lack of skill...
At looking to this i think the first major update to do with Elite fighting is to stop this bump fight because it's just pretty ridiculous, i don't even know why players continues to buy weapons? Just fit with a lot of shield and ram it like a dumb bull (immersion)! I like this game but this type of dogfighting is just shameless and boring, and not highlight any piloting skills, 99% of pvp doghfights end like this.
@@fluffiestmallard6484 That's OK, you don't have to like reverb torps, but I like them though. The look on the other players' faces when their invincible shield tanks becomes instantly vulnerable is something to behold. And this guy's ship was no slouch either; he had actual hull engineering and module protection. The torps just made it an even fight.
Even some of the most shit-tier gankers know how to evade torpedoes. Any ship can outrun them, and most ships can shoot them down without any special equipment. If you don't want to risk it, just low-wake out after you see them launched. Even if you get interdicted again, the torpedoes are already gone.
