For many years, black men have known the barbershop to be a safe space. Through a conversation filled with empowerment, uplifting stories, and shared dreams and passions, in this episode, DeAndre Brown is joined by barber and shop owner Dondre Shivers for a vulnerable conversation around being gay at the barbershop, holding space for gay male clientele, the fears, and microaggressions some face and a look behind the barber cape to find that despite who’s in the chair, there’s always a heart there.
