I adjust the Elite Verdict let off and compare the way it holds and shoots. I discuss high let off vs low let off.

Steven, this is the second video that has helped me since you started with the Verdict. The first was stabilizer weight on the front being too much, and the issue was exactly what I was experiencing. So, like you, I added weight to the back bar and it helped tremendously. I was still wobbling on the target, so I tried lowering my letoff percentage, and that slowed down the wobbling a lot. Now if youcould find a way to turn back my age (I'm 67) I'd be a champion. 😄. Thank you for all you do

A few years ago, I purchased a PSE Perform X depend on your review. I still own this bow and it took me several times to the German Championships in Field Archery (WA) and the WA 50 meter competition. Now I bought two days ago - also depend on your review - an Elite Verdict. This bow is awesome. Different from my Perform X, but I enjoy it to shoot with it. My hinge releases (TRU Ball Sweet Spot Pro Flex) Work fantastic with it. Ok, it my first time to shoot with a 65 percent letoff. My Perform x is between 80 and 90 - I shoot it on 80). A lower letoff is far more satisfying. In summary - I want to say Thank You for your good and true reviews. All best wishes and kind regards from Berlin in Germany Wolf

Man it seems like I always come back to your videos when I need to know stuff and not just that I really enjoyed watching them you actually gave me the motivation to start my own called the Gibson life I'm going to start putting bow reviews on there and release that's kind of putting information that I know out there also cuz I feel like there's a lot of people learn from people that have been in it a long time and it helps them to get started instead of having to send play around with you know stuff not knowing what they're doing they can learn from somebody that's already done to work

Good advice Steven. Thanks. It's totally possible to shoot really well but score badly. Sounds backwards but it happens. Cheers.

Yep! I get a shaky bow arm after a while. I'm moving to field anyway, so will be taking a lot of weight off of the bow and .living to a shorter, lighter bow. In the meantime, I'm doing shoulder work with weights to try to build up some more stamina

I have noticed the Verdict to be a rather heavy mass weight in hand, so reduced the stabiliser weights a few oz. The letoff can be so easily fine adjusted to suit , which does effect the draw length a bit, but the draw length modules can be dialled in 1/4" increments, so a breeze to find the ideal.

how happy are you with this bow, are you generally shooting better with it? how would you compare it with something like a Mathews TRX or a PSE target bow or a Hoyt, would you say its worth it to splurge the extra money for a well known brand?

Always enjoy your videos, I must admit I'm holding off getting a new bow based on when you might review the Bowtech reckoning Gen 2 39. The Elite does look good too so, a comparison review would be the one for me.

i shoot barebow mainly but the same applies to recurve & compound. Balance always takes priority over just adding weight. Adding weight has a tendency to mask problems, you get there eventually but it gets rather ridiculous at some point. When it comes to shooting in wind my stance does seem to open up even more to balance out, wich works pretty allright for me, although this is entirely dependand on hip rotation. Other then that look into periodization.

My understanding of the open stance, is that the hips remain open as the torso rotates in line to the target. Too difficult for me. I shoot with a “straight stance” with my entire body pointing toward the target.

Would shooting a light bow with much stabilizer weight equate to shooting a heavier bow with less stabilizer weight?

I would think to get a solid work out on various testing s you would be in your store out of the wind. Shooting outside will eventually teach you how to make/ force? a scoring shot. This isn’t good as you will start punching instead of a timed controlled release with true pull thru back muscles activating the release. For form I shoot out of my garage. No wind on me influencing the bow moving. IMO, it’s the only way to create the timing of the shot. Your brain needs to learn this with literally thousands of shots. IT NEEDS TO BE AN UNCONSCIOUS event while you are focusing on the target, whatever it is. Most people only have 5 to 7 seconds of prime holding time. After that the eyes and muscles are exhausting the oxygen and you are then having to force your body to function. Not the scenario for the maximum results. Just some thoughts on what I do at 72 years old to help me maintain some degree of ability.👍👍. Good video again Stephen.

Really don’t see the need for all of that weight on my stabs. I probably shoot half of what your shooting and I’m able to last longer. However, as the season progresses I usually end up with more but not as much as your shooting!

More weight is better for stability, but only if you can handle it. Very few top pros shoot light set ups for this reason (Jess Broadwater being a great archer who shoots light stab set ups).
