I used to try to imitate his form while running myself until I realized there is no one else who can look like him. I think Kamworor and Cheptegei look alike, but there's something mesmerizing about Kipchoge
I will be running in this year's Berlin Marathon and Eliud will probably be finished and back at his hotel by the time I even complete my first km but the fact that I and others like me will be stomping on the same turf, in the same race as he did has got me so pumped. I just hope I finish!
At least a world record. That will prove that Kiptum but he is still the goat. Even if he doesn’t break the world record he still is the goat and it would take a lot to change that
Eliud is just like a running god for me. I wish him good luck for the Berlin Marathon. I wish that he will break the 2:01 barrier this time. Lots of love from India🇮🇳🇮🇳
i have been blessed with a berlin marathon entry and will be running the course. watch out kipchoge, im coming for ya! kidding. will be an honor to share the course
oh really, you're kidding? i thought you were better than the GOAT of marathon running, at his best course(excluding vienna and the breaking 2 and they are not official)
As long as he is not sick or burnt out from all the hard training and the pressure to win he will continue setting records and put at bay the myth that you cannot be a world class athlete in your 40’s Especially running
have no doubt about his ability, or shoe tech, it's all down to conditions. Hoping for whatever Kipchoge thinks are perfect running conditions in Berlin so we can see him fly.
We have to hope training and weather conditions for Kipchoge are perfect. With each passing year, he's obviously not getting any younger. But this is Kipchoge - and look at what he did 12 months ago. Plus, Bekele proved too in 2019 fast times are still possible in the twilight years, if it all comes together. Everyone would be stoked to see him get a new WR - and I'll be rooting for him to smash it in Berlin, as will many. It's just a huge shame, although understandable, that Kiptum opted for Chicago - with those two pacing each other, it should have made a new WR even more likely.
He is amazing aka. the goat but Kiptum will be attacking is record in the near future. Hoped to see them both run the same marathon but Kiptum went for Chicago :)
What they aren’t talking about is how in the past year there has been a huge crackdown on Kenyan runners doping. I’d like to believe that Eliud has always been clean but it would be quite a coincidence that he has dominated the marathon for years then right after the crackdown we see him get dropped at Boston? Also, anyone else notice how all of a sudden the podiums aren’t being dominated by Kenyans in the Track & Field World Championships? Maybe the Kenyans are human after all but they had an unfair advantage this entire time? I get the sense that once this is all uncovered and brought to light we will witness a systematic doping scandal and coverup rivaling the scale of the Lance Armstrong/US Postal Service cycling team’s doping program and eventual fallout.
I think Eliud will surprise us again,he is in great shape right now and he is preparing to exit the scene a few years from now,he has a point to prove before the exit
I don't think I can lower the record again and winning would not be so easy, Amos Kipruto is in great condition, age and injuries make it difficult for him to win and lower the record
We know he can break 2:00:00 in the marathon because he has, even if it is an unofficial time, and I'm hoping he'll break it with an official time either this year or next at the Paris Olympics.
In perfect conditions with perfect rotating pacers, it is possible. He just needs to push a little further past what was already impossible and we could see a sub-2
the wind, the water handouts and the pacing was able to shave off that minute of his best time to get a sub-2, and if he will be the fastest it would be a problem as having runners ahead of you blocks the wind that allows for more consistent pacing and better times.
I think if kiptum ran at kipchoge's pace in the first half he'd lose, if Kipchoge ran at Kiptum's pace in the first half he'd lose. I don't think running together in a race wouldn't benefit either of them.
@@jono1432 I know, this is one of the reasons why, because he runs pretty aggressive negative splits and on the second half he'd be chasing... The world record holder....
I don’t think so the man is nearing 40 most people out there think he is invincible. Time and the amount of miles on his body has taken its toll on him. There are younger and more hungry runners out there threatening his reign and his precious world record.
Kiptum GOAT Nigga ran a 2:01:5X for his debut and almost destroyed Kipchoges WR in London at ass conditions and on a not Berlin course Kipchoge is defenetly one of the geeatest athletes ever aswell top 3 long distance runners and no matter what he runs he is still a two time Olympic champion
I run in both Nike and adidas. I prefer Nike for races when it’s dry, however anyone who runs in Nike and has raced in wet conditions will tell you that the traction is abysmal. What do London and boston have in common? Kipchoge was “sick or injured” sure but both courses were wet. The adidas shoes with their continental rubber are exponentially better on wet surfaces. If you’ve run in both the vaporfly/alphafly vs the adios pro 3 you’d notice without question the difference between the two from a traction perspective. Kipchoge should have run boston in the vaporfly 3 which admittedly is an improvement on the 2 and there alphafly 2, but still he was at a disadvantage running against the lighter and better suited pro 3 that the adidas athletes were wearing. If Berlin is dry I have no doubt kipchoge will perform incredibly. I’m also hoping that the alphafly 3 will have better general traction for all condition road races
@@nmmerri good luck my man! just my two cents after running in both top end marathon shoes. I’m by no means a pro but I’m a sub 75 half runner, whenever it’s wet outside I find that the Nikes (which perform better when it’s dry) just slip and slide vs the Adios pro3 which I prefer less, but most definitely has a significant traction advantage. Obviously this is my opinion through experience
@@Aeneiden Then everyone should wear the same shoes in the 1900s according to your analogy since compared to us, they all didn't have the same modern shoes. Right 👍 You're not very smart are you? How does it feel being so stupid? Couldn't be me.
It's a wide open race...I don't see Kipchoge winning a 5th title. He's going backward now, his days are over. His legacy will last for another 10 - 13 years before someone supersedes him.
It's so boring. Why doesn't he do something really special and run the NYC Marathon? Even if he does break the world record again it's going to be for a few seconds and it's going to be very short lived. You can't fool father time. Kiptums will keep coming.
