Elizabeth Bryant, the lead Takelma language teacher for the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians, is dedicated to the revival of a language once thought lost. In her role, Elizabeth is not just teaching words-she's revitalizing a vital piece of her tribe's cultural heritage. Through her work, she aims to inspire a new generation of speakers who can carry forward the traditions and values embedded in the Takelma language.
Growing up with a deep connection to her tribe, Elizabeth found her calling in preserving and teaching her ancestral language.
