+monica Who are you to judge a situation you weren't involved in? Or to be better than Debbie Reynolds who had a deeply profound understanding of what & why.

That interview wasn't published in its entirety. I read Hedda Hopper's book and she admitted that she was mad at Elizabeth when she published it..The name of the book "the whole truth and nothing but" and it wasn't really an interview, Hedda was just talking to Elizabeth. As for marrying Eddie, I do believe she was so miserable..People do crazy things when they are grieving. I know I wasn't myself when I lost someone so close to me and I did things I don't normally do. Liz lost the love of her life and that destroyed her. Plus, Carrie and Todd said that their parents were going to get a divorce until they realized Todd was about to be born. So they were not the happy couple that everybody keep saying.
She was thrown into a world "Hollywood" w/o really having a chance cuz she was so young when she started. She held it together as much as a person could with everything she had to deal with
I LOVE ELIZABETH TAYLOR!!!! My birthday is the same as hers; February 27th.I also love animals and jewelry. I saw her in person in 1987 in San Francisco when she launched Passion perfume. She was VERY beautiful. Did anyone else notice that Mike Todd died on March 22nd and Elizabeth died on March 23rd?Almost the same day!!! Very strange coincidence.
Unbelievable and out of synch with Indian traditions. She magnanimously told the world about her relationships and kept her life an open book. That was the grace she had shown all her life. Her humanitarian work after retirement from films has been appreciated and honoured by the grateful world. She never disappeared from public attention till her death. She never craved for fame and in fact FAME came searching for her. A great & simple soul, we should acknowledge.
For starters, she was one of the most beautiful women in the world, if not the most beautiful, in her time. She was a fantastic actress to back it up, having won 2 Oscars and had more nominations and was very very famous. She was often called the queen of cinema. She was a legend in her own right, and you should be 100x more respectful. At the very least, you should respect her because not only was she a legend, she's also dead.
Hawaii Adventurer 4Life it's easy to blame that action but imagine living alone when everything you wanted was someone to live with. It's like a dagger piercing into the heart.
Soooooooooooo! Elizabeth is the reason we have PARIS today! If she'd stayed married to Hilton, Paris wouldn't be here. hahaha... I'm being bad. Typing before thinking ... dang it, i'm hitting POST too, stop me bef...
I wonder if Mike Todd had lived, would he and Elizabeth have stayed married or would she have inevitably divorced him too? He did seem to be her favourite husband before Richard.
monalisasmile my opinion people who have that many divorces accept for death or danger. something broken in them can't stay committed or work through things. Its a problem in them. thanks Jennifer
Stuart Pierce Yep, I'd say Elizabeth definitely had that problem - the way she went through husbands! I've heard people say her beauty was a curse. Awww! She used it to get whatever and whoever she wanted!
Just gloss over the disservice she did Debbie Reynolds, why don't u. :( I like Elizabeth Taylor but will always be dismayed by the way she treated Debbie.
Perhaps you need to listen to Debbie Reynolds and how she felt about it then, and now. Debbie had a great depth of compassion, empathy & understanding for other people, including her best friend Elizabeth.
Aida Rashid: Barbara asks Liz how she got through the loss of Mike Todd, who she loved probably just as much as Richard Burton, whom she married some years later. She says she didn't know... I believed what helped her get through it to some degree was by marrying another woman's (Debbie) husband and one of Mike Todd's closest friends, Eddie Fisher. That's what Eddie Fisher always seemed to me to be...someone who was there to get Liz through the night--both of them mourning Mike's passing. Liz and Debbie years later reconciled, and by the time Liz had died in 2011, they were on good terms. Both were MGM stars.
The U.S. senate censured them..!? They didn't have anything better to do..? Jesus, I thought people were nosy and judgemental enough when Brad Pitt left Jennifer Aniston for Angelina Jolie, but at least these days the goddamned Pope doesn't feel the need to add _his_ two cents.
@@geo-george2639 no. Some of us have something called self control A rare, & fleeting quality these days, especially in the immoral, indulgent & victim culture society we live in today
none The boys are British-American..but Lisa's dad Michael Todd was of Jewish descent...I too have wondered if she has embraced Judaism. Carrie Fisher did not.
Look at color portrait done in Iran in 1970s young photographer who accompanied her fom US on official visit. On Utube. You will see her actual eye color.
