Eljay's Recap Review: 7116 Tahu 

"My mask! It's the only redeeming quality as star!"

Within the Bionicle lore, the Toa and Glatorian from the Stars Line are still the same height as they were before. So Tahu Mata, Nuva, Mistika and Stars are all the same height - at least in the comics.

Just when i got really into Bionicle... these sets came out

I feel as if this is the only stars set that can be forgiven, because he is suposed to be tahu mata, so it kinda makes sense. for that reason in think that this is the best stars set.

The Stars Tahu mask barely sits on a metru head because of the slimmer shape for the slimmer and elongated green head for the smaller bodies. I guess if you soft it up with hot water or a hair drier and force it on the metru head it might work but I do not recommend that if you want to keep it as it is and not potentially completely ruin it

I like the IDEA of this set. You know, if the ball sockets didn't break and if he had elbows and knees. That would be just fine.

He's far from perfect, but in 2021 as a more affordable nostalgia piece I'll take him.

I had no idea that the golden armor gave the powers of any defeated foes to the wearer. That's actually really cool. I feel like a better build up would have led to the giant robot fight. After some time on Bota Magna, then as Teridax loses, he tries to take over the robot Mata Nui is in. Mata Nui then uses the Mask of Life to cause that robot to disintegrate, then Teridax uses that dust to create a physical form for himself again. Then, Mata Nui reverses his evolution with the Mask of Life, only for Takanuva to don the golden armor, wipe out all solid antidermis, gain all these powers, and used them to help build a new world. That's how I could have seen it happening.

I actually like the Stars solely for their masks.

I went out and bought the Stars despite being done with the series when I heard they were the last ones. I was beyond disappointed with the pre-bent limbs making posing impossible. Always found it odd how this small Tahu wasn't that small and had a much larger sword than the original. The pummel always looked out of place to me. I think Skrall had those hands in Mata Red, so they may not be new? Not 100% sure though.

I don't think it's fair to say that hand and head aside they have the same articulation. Tahu Mata's shoulder and hip articulation is extremely limited due to the black hand piece used while Tahu Stars has no such problem. They technically have the same _points_ of articulation there, but Tahu Stars has a lot more freedom in those points.

I do remember that I bought him, along with Glatorian Mata Nui, just to say 'goodbye' to Bionicle... And then, I bought all of Wave 1 of the 2015 line... And then the line went 'bye bye' again in 2016!

First of all, I really like the new intro. Tahu Stars is a weird set for me. I really don't like the build (I feel like it should have been an Inika build), but since they were trying to make him look like the older version, I don't know how they would have been able to do that without messing up the proportions. I do like how they harkened back to the old 2001 sets, because I got this set right as I was getting into the story, and I was excited to finally get my hands on what was, in my eyes, a 'vintage' Bionicle set. I wish that they would have continued the story after this, because I thought that these were just a special 10th anniversary set, but unfortunately that never happened. I'll never forget the day when my classmate walked up to me the day after we both got our LEGO Club magazines and he said: "Hero Factory is REPLACING Bionicle!" RIP my 3rd grade dreams.

I am probably the only person with this opinion but, I absolutely love this set.

I still don't get why most of the community don't like Stars. I have this set and it wasn't bad back at the time. Not the best ending for G1, but still not a bad set.

At least this Tahu has an articulated head (which, well...his adapted Nuva form also has)

As a nuclear engineering student, I should note that, if his chin were radioactive, it should be glowing greenish-blue, not yellow. Other than that, nice review :).

The red hands were in Skrall. I don't know if other people said this already, but that's how it is.

My one regret is never been able to get a Tahu in any form...

really enjoy the new intro, one a day for the next week, now long to go, i really like the new parts that are not the hau as much as the hau, they look great and i wish we got more use form them.

Though stars are obviously on the cheaper side - I sort of like what they did with Tahu’s colours. Even though he’s back to his basics, the pure red and orange makes him seem like he’s overflowing with elemental energy

I`m with Lj with what the stars are. I appriciate them for what they are but for the last wave of bionicle I have to say they arent that good. I honestly like Takanuvas build XD though. And this recap reminded me of a desappointment I had a while ago, the stars foot and armor pieces never come back do they? I dont think I`ve seen them in any of the G2s as far as I know and you know they arent bad peices if you really think about it ^^

If the stars version had silver-armour instead of red/orange, then you could argue that it where supposed to resemble an hybrid of the mata and Nuva versions. That would have been much better!

Is the stars hau different from the Mata hau?

I ounce had all the Bionicle stars and then I used them to combine with hero factory parts to make Mocs and I don’t think I have most of Bionicle Stars pieces
