That hit me hard too, because my whole life I’ve been surrounded by family, and friends who have done drugs and died from them, I swore to myself years ago I’d never take anything not even alcohol. And hearing that, him saying “I remember when I sounded like that” hit me hard, what if after all of this commitment and time I put into not doing it, I broke one day and jumped to drugs for comfort you know ?

Because the person you are and the person you become on this drug are completely two different people. Say whatever, I know for a fact that addicts actions and their Consequences are worlds apart, once you get the drug you think about nothing but getting high. Then slowly you need more and more, the sober person and the addict are two of the same but trapped in the one body.

Short story: My sister takes pills for her OCD, and she has never done anything with them that she shouldn’t have. However in April, she was suicidal about many things going on in her life, and she took more than twice her regular prescription. She could have died, but she thankfully didn’t get addicted. We had to call poison control, and rush her to the hospital. She was feeling drowsy and didn’t talk much, but she thankfully, so thankfully, got through it. Watching this video made me remember the pain we all went through, having to see her like that, and it reminded me of how much I love my sister, and I would be devastated beyond belief if she didn’t make it, or got addicted.

I saw this in my recommended and I was like “Not that one. That one makes me cry.” Because I’ve seen it before. I lost my uncle to drug issues. Courtney’s reaction messes with me the most. Keith and Noah’s do too but it doesn’t hit as hard. They handled it way better than I would’ve.

You can always turn things around. Just take things one day at a time, or even one minute at a time if you have to. Try to remember the reasons you want to get clean, and all the downsides of using. You got this.

I hope you turned around, bud. I was struggling with addiction for a couple years and at the end of November after having lost EVERYTHING (home, possessions, girlfriend) I got clean. My life is infinitely better than it was when I was using.

Smosh and the Elk program does a great job of getting this point across. This is really a heartwarming video. Instead of just saying the typical “drugs are bad kids” they went an extra mile and showed what could happen and how your family will feel. Thank you. I’ve never personally had a close experience with drugs yet, but all of those who have had a loved one addicted or yourself, I’m so sorry and hope you are okay

Noah was very mature though! “No this is not how I choose to live.” Everyone was mature by that sentence, and Courtney, I felt really bad for all of them to be honest. My mother was a drug addict my whole life. She’s almost a year clean. It doesn’t feel like that long, but for me it’s felt like years. I love my mom so much more then the last 10 years. Shes a different person the she was. She’s my mom.

im a recovering addict and alcoholic myself. this shits no joke, like you become an entirely different version of who you perceive yourself as until the day comes by where you don’t recognize the person you are anymore. all that ever matters is the next high, nothing else. and its a truly terrifying situation, especially if youre only used to living in chaos you think you can manage. until the one day you dont. im grateful i dont live that way anymore, and im grateful for life, and this is just a really good video. mad respect for this
