SYNOPSIS
Natalia Hills started dancing tango when she was 11. By 12 she was already performing in theaters. Nurtured by the most important maestros of the day, her tango soared. She reached the peak of her profession at 19. She became the star dancer of the show Forever Tango, in London's West End.
"Ella Baila" tells the story of Natalia's amazing journey. In extensive interviews she recounts how iconic maestros, like Todaro, Pepito, and Copes, danced and taught. Although stage tango was still in its early days of development, precious archival videos from Natalia's private collection illustrate how spectacular the choreography had already become.
This documentary film is an important historical document that bridges the past and the present. It honors those men and women who keep alive the tradition of tango and spread it to the new generation of dancers. It is a source of material for all those who are to come.
