You have such a pretty voice. I almost lost my wife after the birth of our third child. She was bleeding out, and the nurses were screaming and cursing. My wife told me to go with the baby. The doctors said they needed to ask me some questions immediately. Before they could ask, I said, "Save her. I need her. Do whatever it takes, and save her." The team went to work. After two days and nine pints of blood, her face returned to the way I remembered it. Thank you to the nurses, doctors, and all who helped with their time and prayers. Thank you Ms. Henderson for reminding me of the things that I do not control and the things that mean so much to me.
I heard this song while laying on the bed after giving birth to our 2nd son losing blood watching doctors all the sudden start scrambling for medical instruments. My husband yelling to help me. My mom crying bc they pushed her away. I was crying to him watch our son Bc I’m not leaving. This song gave me peace. Obviously I’m fine but never had another child. We are blessed. However I found it ironic this was my fav movie and made me cry when it played. 30yrs later the same thing happened to me. I will never forget my husbands hand holding mine.
Female - I’d have to agree - I do like my covers being different style though - check out The version by Greg Lasswell…. Different and I wouldn’t ‘compare’ them or say one is better as two amazing covers But as a fan of covers you may like it 🤷🏻♂️😄
Ella, this is one of the BEST covers I have heard! I LOVED that you slowed it down a bit. It shows the enormous strength and control you possess. BRILLIANT interpretation of this classic. Years later and still evokes such powerful emotions. Thank you. 💕💕💕
She was too good for that show, in my opinion. They would have squeezed the goodness out of her and cast her aside, like many other highly talented people. I'm glad she went a different route, but the X-Factor was a great launchpad for her.
This song is about a husband in agony over his wife in childbirth that gone wrong and the wife and baby both can die. It's about him being helpless and it's all up to the woman now. It is from his perspective. The fear and helplessness he feels . How he can't stop thinking if she dies, all the things he wish he would have said, how he should be crying but can't show it as in it could make it real, how he should be hoping all turns out fine, but he can't stop thinking what if it doesn't.. So no I don't think it fits the Handmaid's tale from a woman's perspective. Although a terrifying scene. This song is about a man and his thoughts and agony and helplessness when his wife and child is in danger. They just took this song because of the title and the obvious haunting song that Kate sings.
@@loki76 I think this is a very interesting and valid take, but I also think music is beautiful because it can be interpreted so many different ways. For Kate Bush that may have been her meaning, but I think it’s beautiful that others can find their meaning aswell 😊
Funny you mention a t.v. show... I can't help but cry when I hear this especially after "Without a Trace" used it a million years ago in a very emotional episode
WOW WOW WOW!!! Your voice is OVER THE TOP! I have loved this song since the movie SHES HAVING A BABY with Kevin Bacon & Elizabeth McGovern. But this is the most incredible EMOTIONAL version and I’m in love with it! I was diagnosed with Adenoid cystic carcinoma 3 years ago went thru two 14hr surgeries but they ending up taking my voice box anyway. 😢 So my Dear your voice is my voice since I can’t speak or sing anymore! God gave you this gift so please SING LIKE A BIRD!!! I want to hear more & more songs from you! You are beautiful & so is your voice. I’m one of your biggest fans now! 😍🤗😲🙌🏼💜
What is so unique to me about Ella's vocal dexerity is what she does with her dynamics at 2:48, 2:54, 2:59. The ending she puts on her notes is like a subliminal cry.... unbelievable!
Pray God you can cope I stand outside this woman's work This woman's world Ooh, it's hard on the man Now his part is over Now starts the craft of the father I know you've got a little life in you yet I know you've got a lot of strength left I know you've got a little life in you yet I know you've got a lot of strength left I should be crying, but I just can't let it show I should be hoping, but I can't stop thinking Of all the things I should've said That I never said All the things we should've done Though we never did All the things I should've given But I didn't Oh, darling, make it go Make it go away Give me these moments back Give them back to me Give me that little kiss Give me your hand I should be crying, but I just can't let it show I should be hoping, but I can't stop thinking Of all the things we should've said That we never said All the things we should've done Though we never did All the things that you needed from me All the things that you wanted for me All the things that I should've given But I didn't Oh, darling, make it go away Just make it go away now
I love this cover because Ella didn't try to copy the original version. She put her own personal stamp on it. Now we have two exquisite versions to enjoy. Both very beautiful yet still very different ❤🙏
The true power of this song is this version i think so many colours in your voice , Its like all the struggles of this live , the irony the lost dreams the joy its all here . Well done very moving .

The Best cover of this song i have heard much superior to Maxwell. You have a beautiful voice and have done it in your own style and not tried to imitate Kate Bush, And i Think You are very underrated and don't get the praise you deserve much like Kate I hope you contiue to develope and grow.
Beautiful version never thought anyone could sing this other than KB but you made it yours EH and your runs made me cry. There is no other song that conveys the joy and heartbreak of labour.
this was always a beautiful song lyrically, but his has just been brought to life, for every reason or sentiment it brings to someone..... whatever it means to you
Heard Nadia sings this on Walk the Line, love Nadia and her story but i was disappointed with her take on this classic, just heard the original and now looking for a nice cover, heard a few and then saw Ella did a cover, knew Ella wouldn't let me down this is stunning!
