What you just said is stupid Sonia. He has a porteño accent or bonaerense accent, and that is not only 1% of Argentina accent, in fact about 80% of the country's population has that accent, is not like he has an accent from corrientes or chaco.. you're probably the typical person of the interior of the country who has an inferiority complex and hates the porteños
For non-Argentinian people: this is the kind of classic character that Argentines tend to display in the capital, Buenos Aires. They love to talk a lot, make ironic jokes, even with a self-centered touch that sometimes goes beyond the limits. They are close and nice. In the typical Argentine character there are mixtures of Spanish and Italian customs, such as the expression with the hands and the kisses, among many.
In 2002, when I was 17, the Argentinian polo team played in Ontario, Canada where my parents used to have a second house. I brought my Minolta camera (my dad's from the 1970s) and started snapping photos. The Argentinian players all lined up at the end of the game and let me take a photo of them. Hot guys! I got home....just a walk back to my house...only to find no film was loaded in the camera. I'll always have the memories though.
I had a similar experience with a Pentax K1000 in an Euro trip in 1997. Paris, Bastille Day. The parade had just ended and they let people cross the Champs Elysees. I just crossed and stood in the middle: more than ten blocks in the middle of the day without a single car and without a single person, the Arc de Triomphe at the end... Click. It was not up to Berlin that I started to doubt about the film capacity... Well, there was no film.
I really love when native spanish speakers don't force their accents to make them sound american or british. Sadly I can't get rid of my americanized accent because I was really into it when I started learning english as a kid. Be proud of your roots guys! Don't be like me back in the day. I mean, our accent is kinda hot.
I'm spanish and that is so true, but we have to perfeccionate because to prove we can speak it to work and stuff, but you're right we should keep our hottest accent ever
I'm not sure if it's about "wanting to sound as X". I think that when you really like learning languages, you make efforts to perfectionate your pronounciation as much as possible. Best way to do so is to listen and immitate native speakers, and as a result you end up getting to sound more like them (for the most cases, at least).
Ellen's best guests are the ones who banter with her. Wanda Sykes, Sofía Vergara, Jennifer López are always great on her show. And Nacho can be added to that list.
He's so good looking! The Argentine "Christian Bale"!! Yes, Argentinians are like that, spreading charm everywhere!! Manu Ginóbili, Nacho Figueras, Messi, Jorge Luis Borges, el mate, Buenos Aires, it's such a beautiful country!🇦🇷🧉🇦🇷🤩
Argentina had the best polo players, teams and tournaments in the world but the problem is that futbol (soccer) is the most popular sport in Argentina (and probably in the most hispanic countries), and the people who have access to practice this sport are from high class or families who have horses and fields, is more easy buy a soccer ball than a horse and polo equipment.
The most famous and important Polo player in the world is another argentine and his name is Adolfo Cambiaso. And this is the first time I heard about this guy in my life.
Nacho is a CLASS A player!! usually plays the #1 spot! he is so beautiful on the field that Ralph Lauren made him the face of POLO for his company! Thanks Ellen for bringing my hero to your fans. You are an amazing woman!
I like Ellen sooooooo much!!!! You always bring a big smile in my face I love you for that and because the great person you are. Bravoooooooooo I am Argentinian as Nacho
WOW WOW, RUGBY AND GOLF!!!! Rugby it's not game for the rich, while golf is a sort of middle-upper class sport.
I'm from Buenos Aires. I didn't know him either but, I don't watch sports and I sure never watched polo, I don't know anything about sports, I only like watching X Games or stuff like that. But he seems to be a nice and funny guy, and if he and Ellen are friends he sure is.
He is the cousin of my cousins, its like my --second cousin--, thats how we call it in Argentina. Anyway, he used to be very famous in Argentina, nowadays he keeps on doing advertising but not too much. Love from Argentina!!
Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina!!! For those who doesn't know about this guy, he's one of the best Polo players in the World, along with another great Polo player also from Argentina (the best in the country) called Adolfo Cambiaso. Both of them played, and won, a lot of prestigious trophies in USA and also in the UK, where they were invited to play for the Royal Family itself (Nacho is a good friend of both Princes William and Harry, and he was invited for Harry's wedding recently).
As an Argentinian girl I say: that's a Tipical Argentinian person's entrance to pretty much everywhere, 😂😂😂 Argentinian people never want to go unnoticed 😎😂
