What a terrific interview with Ellen Petersen Haygood representing my favorite band, The Petersens, who are the very best in American music today. This awesome multitalented family band now has OVER 200 MILLION VIEWS of their LIVE videos in only approximately 3 years and they have done it all without a backing label, based on genuine talent alone, without the nonsense so common with others, all of which is so rare in the music industry today. So thank you Tara for the interview. And for those who have never experienced this rare, genuine talent, check out their videos and even better one of their shows in Branson or elsewhere. It's an experience that will make you happy and one that will not be forgotten!
"Jesus never ran"! This was a great interview. Ellen seems like a very calm and settled personality and I enjoyed her family's story. The way she lightly rocks and smiles while listening to you speak is also sweet.
As a fan of The Petersens I would like to thank you for this fun and informative podcast interview with Ellen. It's nice to have an interview that goes a little deeper than most. And you definitely had a few scoops in there as well!👍
It is strange how most of the comments on this video do not comment at all on the interview with Ellen and what she says - which is really interesting even for us who are very informed - but instead ask "to react to other artists" and they don't try to get to know The Petersens better.... 😞 Hi Frank!!
@@Roberto-pd8vn Hi Roberto, yeah that's a little unfortunate. Different interests and age group, I guess. I still hope that people here on Tara's channel will at least check The Petersens out. I'm pretty sure they won't regret it.
Love her. She is a precious person in all ways. Ellen, and all the Petersen siblings, are the best role models for American youth today. They are believers in Christ and obviously do their best to to exemplify what should be a Christian’s lifestyle in these challenging times. People notice that, and that’s why the world seeks them out. People are thirsty for what they have to offer, and they are like a breath of fresh air. Looking so forward to seeing them in a few months for their Christmas show. 😊
Agreed. My wife and I were able to see them in London a couple of weeks ago. They were fantastic, although we really missed Ellen, who wasn't there. We're planning our trip from England to see them in December in Branson.
Hi Tara. This interview prompted me to subscribe. You did a wonderful job with it. I am a really big fan of The Petersens, though I have not yet had the opportunity to see them live. I found them by happy accident. I was watching a video from a show called Country Family Reunion, and watching Michael Martin Murphey perform his song Carolina in the Pines. RU-vid suggested others doing the song as well and The Petersens were one of those suggested. I so enjoyed them and have been a fan ever since. The growth of this group professionally and personally has been a joy to watch. All of them are so talented and endearing as people too. One of the things I admire about Ellen is how when she is talking to someone (whether a fan or a cashier at a coffee shop) she has a way to make them feel like they have her full attention, and that what they are saying matters. I will be watching more from you Tara as I have so enjoyed watching your interview style as well. Wishing The Petersens all the success that they can handle without changing who they are.
The first family of bluegrass as far as im concerned. I worked with a sound and lightning production company for several years and had the honor of meeting and working with The Petersons on a few bluegrass shows. Great down to earth family and a pleasure to work with.
Ellen is an amazing talent and such a good singer and performer in the Peterson family band. The banjo is a favorite of mine and man can she play that thing. Keep up the good work Ellen.
I hope Ellen and anyone remembers that being cut from AGT was not because she had failed but because others have been that one step closer to what they wanted to see go forward. I think The Petersens are just fantastic and I would love to see them but they would have to come to southern Ontario for me to see. 🙏
I have always thought the two parents must be such dynamic people. What well adjusted, talented and poised people they appear to be, all why the father is an air force physician.
She seems to be a very calm, nice and generous person, she even gives some nice advices to people liking to perform music. A wonderful conversation, she said at the end.
Branson Missouri is very family friendly! Ellen is married to Michael Haygood and I've know Michael Haygood for many years! Their marriage is a strong powerhouse and I'm excited to see what they can create together!!!
So great Tara that you are interviewing Ellen Peterson! This family is an American treasure! So needed in these crazy times where family and Christianity is under attack.
The Petersen’s RU-vid performances are very well recorded, great background, clothing (most of the time), as well as great instrumentation and harmony.
It's very interesting on the part about God working through music. I went through a dark part of my life in which I had a major health issue 4 years ago. Spent a lot of time listening to gospels and hymns through RU-vid. I cried and cried out to God. Not knowing how I can take time off from work because of mortgage and financial commitments. I said Lord please just stay with me. It good enough. Then the amazing Grace of God happened. A few later I won the lottery. Large enough to pay off my mortgage and some left over. Physically all is well. Amazing how Gid works. So grateful
America Idle is about money not about the best talent. It’s a scam for sure. They want viewers not the best talent. If they get sympathy acts or crazy dog shows they draws people the talent doesn’t matter. It’s viewers.
Loved the interview but a little curious when I checked your reactions I did not see any reactions to any of the Petersens' music. From the content of your interview you seem quite familiar with their music, though they do put out new music by way of covers as well as originals that you react to. Is there a reason?
What a treat it is to learn from two intelligent, spiritually-mature women how they behave with Christian integrity in the modern media world. Knowing they are loved by God and by family blesses them with the freedom not to crave faux-‘love’ from a big audience. As a result, their work becomes all the more authentic and meaningful, ‘veggies for our souls’. I don’t know either Tara or Ellen, but I’d be confident that either would make an excellent role model/mentor to young women and girls entering their industry. PS As a big fan of Ellen’s voice, I’m glad she gives it plenty of rest (12:50).
Thank u for your kind words. You hit the nail on the head with the lessons I want to teach young women entering the music industry…to stay true to themselves and never compromise their morals for the sake of fame
I have watched a few Petersons videos and I got smitten by that banjo girl... She can take limelight OK, but the way she looks at her siblings take centre stage, with that beautiful and pensive supportive smile is where it's at. Wish I had someone in life that would look at me like that (and there is a reason I don't), but that is one beautiful soul right there.
What a nice and beautiful lady! I had seen them in RU-vid before because they all are a pleasure to see them singing and playing their instruments, but i still didn't know that Ellen was such a pleasure to listen to speak out so simply and frankly like in this interview. I wish the interviewer would have spoken a little less. Anyway.... Thanks for sharing!
I really enjoyed this! My why in music, is very much to lift up the name of Jesus Christ and glorify him in all of it, but my dream is very much is to be on The Voice and be in front of people who will see me and know me for my voice and the music that I'm making. I want to be a Worshiper for Jesus, but I also really want to be a Professional Singer! I'm really struggling with this.
Hi Tara, I don’t know why I have not seen this before now? Your interview with Ellen. What a fantastic interview between the two of you. Always learning more about the Petersen’s. I been following them since Covid watching them on u-tube. And seen them perform live 5 times now. Just got back a couple weeks ago from the Petersen’s Patreon Reunion. What a great experience that was getting to hang out with them and getting to know them better. I will always remember that. There strong beliefs in God makes them so successful in all they do with their music 🎶. They certainly touch my heart ❤️ all these years. Thanks for sharing this interview. God Bless! 🙏 you and the Petersen’s. From the Hetland’s Bill, Mary, Patrick, and my brother Tom, 😎😊😁🤠✝️
Tara, "Veggies for the soul." Love it. And, yes, Ellen and the Petersens have been JUST that for my soul. Thanks for your insightful, to the heart of it, interview with Ellen. Well done!
The Petersens must alert their audience to this interview as it reveals one of the band's favorite members (all of them are one of the favorite members be assured) giving inside information on what most of their audience would agree is their all-time favorite performers. Tara Simon picked a solid proponent to interview (all would be or rather each would be, I bet).
