Elias Shimoun To be fair, I don’t think clothes (unless requested) are birthday or Christmas gifts. I think that’s a short cut. I have a daughter. I never gave her clothes as gifts, unless she asked for something. Clothing, and underwear are necessities a parent must provide. Using them as birthday and Christmas gifts is a cheapskate cop out.

Birthdays and Christmas are special occasions. Copping out with stuff you have to buy them anyway is a cheapskate shortcut. You have months to prepare. Plan. I did. My daughter was born in mid January. I didn’t permit anyone to use the “too close to Christmas” excuse. 11 months to prepare. No combination gifts, Christmas & birthday, either. It isn’t that hard. Some birthdays I had less money. I shopped after Christmas sales. Not rocket science.

I get what you mean, Alexis, but even when kids are being nice they have their personality showing through. This girl was so soft spoken she's probably generally a well behaved kid. Of course every kid has their bad days, but from this it at least seems like she's nicer than most. Then again none of us can know that without knowing her, of course. The way she didn't scream when she got the kitten and how she held it also gives me the idea she might just be a gentle person

@@shaneluke346 So are you saying families with young kids shouldn't have pets at all? Usually the parents would be there to help taking care of the animal(s) and supervise their behaviors. Having pets also helps kids to learn about responsibilities. The girl in this video was very gentle with the kitten. She didn't just grab him out of the box, but instead waited for an adult to hand him to her. The way she held him was soft yet secured. I think she will be fine.
