I think everyone is overreacting with how Ellie acted while opening presents. Ellie has never been super comfortable on camera then add her friends being there it was awkward.Give her a break she just barely turned 12. I thought her reactions were pretty good, plus the scenes had some breaks In them so we don’t see everything. Please stop beating her up about it, on and off camera because she’ll never get used to it. Also, as much as we love to see it, protect your kiddos & keep the initial opening off camera unless it’s just such a big gift.
It sucks that you ALWAYS have to defend yourself or the girls , if everything isn’t “perfect “. Ellie is still growing. She’s still young. I think she has come a long way in how she interacts with the camera. She was excited, not overly excited but excited. I hope she had a great birthday. 🎈🎂🎈
No one should have to constantly repeat themselves over and over again in a form of apology. Both girls have their own personalities and if they don't feel comfortable in front of a camera so what? No one likes it they can go to another channel no one is forcing them to watch the videos.
You could tell she feels weird with the camera but you can also tell she appreciated the gifts because every gift she got she said thank you I think she did good
these comments are unbelievably rude and unnecessary. Ellie is 12 years old you can’t expect her to say thank you every 2 seconds or scream and jump at every gift. she smiled, got excited, thanked her parents. she was also with her friends at the time and not everyone is comfortable in front of a camera for long period of time. let Ellie be a child and stop dragging her for every single thing she does. she seems shy and doesn’t know what to say sometimes and that’s okay. she went from not being on camera hardly at all to being on most videos which is such a huge step. happy late birthday Ellie i hope you enjoyed your big day. it is so disappointing that Heather put this disclaimer out there in the video and still got these comments.
Different people have different reactions to different situations. She wasn't unappreciative. For some reason people expect her to be more like Emma. She's not Emma. Her reaction was authentic. She said thank you. Happy Birthday!
She is 12. I was the same. It’s hard having the so called “perfect” reaction to opening gifts. I can’t even imagine how I would act if over a million people watched my videos. That’s a lot of pressure for a 12 year old girl. this is her personality, if you’ve watched their vlogs you can tell when she’s excited! Just look at her smile. She's adorable and I find her reactions to be hilarious. She's growing up to be a lovely young lady and is a joy to watch. I enjoy her sense of humor and the fact that still sees the world from a kids point of view. The vlogs wouldn't be what they are without everyone's unique personality. You're a good mom, we all know you are raising good kids and they are so blessed to have such great parents and opportunities. Happy Birthday Ellie, I think she did just fine opening the presents in front of everyone. I struggle with that still and I’m 23 lol I really enjoyed the water park vlog yesterday. I remember when I use to have birthdays like that with my friends. Looked like a lot of fun! 😊💕
Its odd that with this age of technology people seem.to.forget that at the end of the day vloggers are just as human as they are , why they find it hard to understand Ellie not being 100% comfortable with doing certain things in front of the camera especially when company is around is mind boggling. Give them a break and get off your high horses vlogging isn't easy in anyway shape or form.
I feel ya mom, kids do act differently around different friends. My son would act like a total goofball idiot around his total goofball idiot friends and he would be more mellow when he was with mellow friends. I can see where it might look like she’s unappreciative or whatever but I’ve been watching these videos for a long time and I know that’s just how she is and I’m quite sure she’s very grateful for what she gets. I think she’s just not as mature as Emma because of the age difference and Emma has no problem being in front of the camera.That’s all
I can honestly say Ellie did a way better job of being excited opening her presents then I would have. Being in front of a room full of people even friends was a nightmare for me, add in cameras and I would have been in sweating bullets or even in tears. Congratulations on the presents and your birthday Ellie.
i can assure you just about every middle school girl knows what tiffany’s is. that was an example of a gift that heather got to make herself feel good or like emma said ellie is really just uneducated. look how they incorrectly pronounced vineyard vines for months
My 22 year old is like that when opening gifts, some kids adults aren’t screaming and showing emotions! They are thankful, just don’t like all attention on them. No need to explain.
I 100% agree with you and when I open presents I get really awkward and uncomfortable you should just keep opening presents between you, your husband, Emma, and obviously Ellie! :)
These girls are lucky, when I was her age I got one bigger gift, and maybe some little things. Plus, I got one pricey pair of sneakers, maybe once every two years, if that.

Everyone expresses emotions and events differently, as a long time subscriber you can definitely tell she liked her gifts (especially the shoes)! Hope she had a wonderful birthday and there isn’t any reason for these parents to justify anything in regards to THEIR kids. She’s a twelve year old come on guys let’s give them a break for once.
Hi mom, I like the way you do up the girls baskets, it kind of reminds me of how my mom did it or still does it. I like how you use the skewers so things don’t fall behind and sink down into the straw if you happen to have it in there, but anyway that’s a good idea and I’m going to have to remember that I saw that you had done it on Easter baskets and others. It’s hard sometimes to set it up where you can see everything so yeah good idea mom, you are very creative. And very much a DIY person, I can’t do any of that stuff.👍🏻💪🏻💐

rude and a cage is perfectly fine from a pet store.... our hamsters are doing great and are more happy than ever, you can also buy them a terrarium... it really doesn't take that much care.
i think this is like raw moments- its not even like, theres no reason to judge. you shouldnt ever feel the need to defend ur girls or urself. its content there will always be someone who gets rubbed off the wrong way. HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY !!
I didnt have an issue with the reactions. Everyone is different. I dont make a big deal when i open gifts either. Also those 2 tone jean shorts are cute. I would totally wear them but im 29 and i think im too old for hollister lol

They get soo many clothes every video of where they get presents ! Their closets must be packed with soo much clothes !!! But I love watching them open up gifts I get so excited to see what they get !!!

I understand the intent behind this comment but they don’t need to be reminded how blessed they are. They have a family that is ready and willing to spoil them and let them know how special they are. They deserve it.

Why buy a 12 yr old Tiffany jewelry if she doesn’t even know what it is? Of course she’s not going to know what a luxury jewelry brand is at 12 yrs old. It seems like more of a money brag than it is Ellie’s fault for not knowing the brand. She’s 12, let her be 12.
i feel theyre just trying to mature her into nice stuff because emma started getting nicer stuff around that age it was just a nice gift and im sure shes not going to destroy it or anything if they can afford it i dont see a problem
Exactly what I was thinking. In Ellie’s video of her saying what she wanted for her birthday there were some rings that she wanted that I thought were more age appropriate.
I thought she was cute opening her gifts. I feel both of your children appreciate all the things you get them. You are absolutely right, they are both different people who react differently. Your daughters are nice young ladies, you have raised them well, letting their individualities shine.

One of my children, a girl of a similar age to Ellie reacts the same during present openings, it’s just an awkward age and some people are just awkward with gifts full stop, doesn’t make them ungrateful! Happy birthday Ellie.
