Jared: “What more can I do to help you?” Literally 8 words I never once heard coming from my husband’s mouth in my 25 years of marriage, and I have suffered with chronic migraines most of my life! If you have to be sick Ellie, be thankful that you have Jared by your side! 😢

Every time I watch a video with a man doing the bare minimum (aka showing the slightest amount of care for his wife) there are always women like you complaining that your husband can't even reach that bare minimum. And I am surrounded by women in partnerships like you. The effect of not being viewed as a human being by the person you've shared 25 years of your life with, risked your life, body and health to birth babies that you assign his surname to, catered to his needs, sleep with must be so demeaning and exhausting. I dream of a world where women don't think another woman is lucky to have someone who kinda cares about her. I dream of a world where women have self respect. I dream of a world where women value themselves more than to live a life like you have. Until women wake up, all we can do is dream...

I’ve had coeliac disease since I was 2 years old. I’m 60 now. We didn’t have all the food convenience that we have now. I struggled, not only wth the diet and my own “0h a little won’t hurt” but also having others understand it. BUT it does get easier. Your health is EVERYTHING. You’re going to be just fine AND you have Jerrad to help you - go you!!! You have a diagnosis!!!! You now know what you MUST do. You’ve got this!!!

I'm graduating from school to become a registered dietitian. In the US we are the only healthcare professional that is regulated to give nutrition advice ethically. I highly recommend seeing an autoimmune dietitian to help you navigate changes that are sustainable for you.

Ellie, as someone who is doing this same exact program, I will tell you it has been the best thing I’ve ever done for my health! It’s hard at first not being able to eat hardly anything, but it gets easier and you will see that it’s so, so worth it!! I was diagnosed with hoshimotos and rheumatoid arthritis years ago and I’m amazed at how well I feel since I’ve started this program.

Ellie I’m so glad that you FINALLY have a solid diagnosis. Sjogren’s is brutal from everything I’ve learned over the last decade. Following a FODMAP diet is very challenging, but I know you can do it. I was so sad when the docs gave me the lists of what I should and shouldn’t eat. Taking that control can be so empowering. Look at all you’ve endured over the years and know that you can do this!

Doing it together really does make all the difference. One of our sons has an autoimmune disease so we have been looking into a full family diet change but even when he has to do colonoscopy preps and such we all follow to help him too. Well the other boys do get to eat but in hiding and must be something you can't smell 😂 Praying this helps, the start of change is always the hardest.

How truly wonderful that doctors are finally finding out how to help you. Even though this new diet may be difficult at first it will help you so much especially with those awful migraines and your eyesight. I'm 72 and diagnosed with many of the same issues many years ago but I was told it was something I just had to learn to live with. The Migraines were the worst. I was getting at least 3 per week and had to literally get knocked out with injections every weekend. I'm so happy that you have a way to help you. I recently started my own food plan and I do feel a big difference and so much better. My Migraines went away after menopause but the other things, especially my eyesight which gets worse every year. I have been a bookkeeper my whole life and this year was the worst year with my eyesight. Hang in there, Ellie. You have finally found some help and I pray that you will finally get rid of those Migraines and feel so much better really soon so you can enjoy your life and those adorable kids. Sending g lots of hugs, Love and many, many prayers🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Thanks for sharing this issue in your personal life. I am older that you, but also struggled with IF, endo and recently diagnosed with auto immune issues. Similar as you... just never feel 100% and am always achy. I will be begining a new food journey also. I have not had food sensitive test done. But, curious now after you mentioned your sensitivities. Please, please, please keep sharing the diet, food, meal planing part of your journey. I think most of us dealing with auto immune issues need to find a support group that can support and share that part of the journey. Also, you may have shared your doctors name, clinic but would you be willing to share his name again? Hang in there, your a great mom and wife!

Along side my husband finding out he is a type 1 diabetic. For a while there it felt like all I was able to think about, talk about was food. What to eat and not eat. I don't feel like that anymore though! You've got this you can do it! And you will feel sooo much better!! Remember there are people behind you! Rooting for you!! 💛💛💛

Hi Ellie! ☺ I was so happy to hear that you are finally getting some answers, although they might not be the ones you wanted. I myself was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder just last week and the biggest part for me is also to change my diet. Meal prep, batch cooking and freezer meals here I come because no way I will have the energy to cook every day, when everything I cook is new and different. Like some others suggested, talk with a dietitian so you get help and support as you and Jared change what you eat so that you don't have to do all the work yourself. It might also be helpful to buy some cookbooks about anti-inflammatory foods and meals. I find that to me that it is easier to absorb than getting sucked into articles online that might have no scientific references. Best of luck with your food endevors! You are doing it together with so many other people 🤗

My spouse has had sjogrens for years and has never been told to change their diet. She uses restasis for dry eye. Dry mouth drops and chewing gum for dry mouth. She also needs to take a nap most days. I hope the diet works for you. It sounds like hard work-one day at a time! So glad Jared is doing it, too. He is such a huge support and so caring.

I was diagnosed with my first autoimmune disease in 1998. Rheumatoid arthritis was first, then came Sjogren's, then can psoriasis. I also have Raynaud's. You will live with this for the rest of your life. I am so sorry, Ellie. You are young and have a young family. Once you figure out what is right for you to eat, and how much exercise you need, changes will become a way of life. Hang in there Ellie, you are not alone. There are many of us that fight autoimmune diseases. Sending hugs.

Ellie! I am so sorry. I have a ton of unexplained symptoms of things, but I don't know what causes it. I have never had one overarching diagnosis, but food seems to play a major factor. I also have gotten extreme vertigo as well. I am struggling to figure out where I can find answers. Please continue to share, because I hope it can help me figure out what to do next too.

You finally have a diagnosis! That's ultimately your first step to feeling better. Since you were unknowingly eating many of the foods you were sensitive, removing them from your diet will be a big step to being more healthy and feeling better.
