Elliot Slessor needs 7 snookers against Zhang Anda | 2019 Welsh Open - Last 32

Zhang Anda makes an impeccable break of 75 and leaves only 3 reds on the table. However, Slessor believes he has a chance, even though he has to start by potting the pink rather than black off the first red, increasing the snookers needed to 7. An impressive effort, skilful shots and great determination.
Zhang Anda vs Elliot Slessor, 2019 Welsh Open - Last 32

That was fun to watch but you should concede when you're more than 4 snookers behind. If every snooker player will go looking for 6-8 snookers perhaps once in 3 years someone can make it but it doesn't mean this should become a common practice.

It was reasonable for Slessor to make that seemingly unachievable attempts, because Zhang's safety play was terrible. Zhang's foul on the black was avoidable and it was that critical moment that brought Slessor back to the game.

Often people trying needing many snookers is just desperation, but few players mean it and can pull it off against the numpties like here - seldom against the top players tho, though i never dismiss the fight. Hope Slessor will improve next season his ranking and results and becomes a contender. He just seems to lack that killer instinct of a winner. Thanks - never saw this and was nice to see!

this was an amazing effort from Slessor. But I think in his last shot on the pink, it would have been a better option to use the black as a cannon for the white ball. That way, he would have played the safety on the white to the opposite end rail and placed the black in a potable position while still leaving the white on the rail. Otherwise, great effort although such a comeback would not have been possible with a better opponent. Some of the mistakes were just ridiculous
