I totally understand when people say just cause she speaks with a Jamaican accent and is a rapper does not mean she thinks she's black. I'm both black and Jamaican and I'm a huge metal head, does not mean I think I'm white, but that's the notion people get. But whatevs cause haters are gonna hate
It bodes well with this Corona apocalypse. I imagine myself like in Grimes's Kill v. Maim/Mad Max, boom boxing this song to all the idiots and touching everything around and acting like crazy rebel savages. My coping with anger and this fuckery we're in.
I love skrillex because he's the first dubstep I ever heard and I love dubstep so much now. He's literally the God of dubstep because he's the one who made it popular. He's a living legend.
I had this song on loop in highschool only to completely forget what it was called. I only remembered the elephant at the beginning and could only describe the music video as an acid trip at the dentist. I'm so happy I found it again!
+Sophie Kauffmann lol wtf. that's not how our accents are in Sweden. i don't get all these people on youtube proclaiming this is how it sounds when we swedes sing in English. it does not.
+Sophie Kauffmann How do you know she's not faking it if you haven't heard how she usually sounds when she sings and speaks and you don't know how Swedish accents sound? In general it's not like each individual has a different accent, if you do have an accent the sound of it depends on where you're from and what your other language is. To state that she's not faking and that "our accents are different" is nonsense. :)
Dude that drop is fcking perfect :'I wish skrillex still would do stuff like this damn i just wanted to write the same comment again two years later XD
The most awaited video of my life. It's just not about Skrillex. I am a die hard fan of him,but here ? IT'S ABOUT 'ELLIPHANT' ! Skrillex introduced her in Ultra Music festival. He respects her talent so much. You should know that. They are good friends.
I watched this hair commercial that she was doing while talking about this song she did with skrillex and she has a very thick accent because she's from Sweden. People get accents confused all the time because they can sound similar and maybe she's playing with Jamaican styles but this is her style. She's not a iggy. She sounds like this in her music and her genre is this so I'm not hating. It's dope!
It's Jamaican dialect (source : "It might be because of the way I use the words where it sounds as I have a Jamaican Patois dialect." anthemmagazine.com/qa-with-elliphant/)
Just read it over interviews. Yes she is native from sweden. But in her songs she uses Jamaican Patois Dialect Research before telling me no. anthemmagazine.com/qa-with-elliphant/
"I am written in Lamb's book of life, my name written in the blood of the Lamb by the Lamb only Him that wrote St. Claudia. (Only That Book) ALL forgiveness." ~ St. Claudia
Tʜᴇ Pʀoxʏ Ⓧ as i went to a skrillex-concert last summer when i was high as fuck on weed and LSA and found a place in the wavebreaker i have to say yes.
Ughhhhhhhhhh I know your story and why you don't do music anymore but girlllll, you're still one of my favorite artists of all time. Your songs NEVER get old and I'd literally be so fucking stoked if you came back to this journey. I get it. Your music stands the test of time because you're so fuckin real and I know it's selfish for me to even wish you'd come back to this but I just can't stop imagining where your music would have went. You are so genuinely talented. I feel blessed I got to hear the music you did produce in your short go. So for that, thank you. I'll always wonder about you for the rest of my life.
@@carlotabetancourtlascurain7815 I'm not 100% sure because I don't know her personally but from all the videos and interviews she's done in the past, she mentioned she didn't expect to become big so quickly and didn't really like all the attention. She just wanted to be normal and I think she originally wanted to write music for other artists either that or she did photography (Don't quote me though, I can't remember completely it was a while ago when I found out) I think she went back to traveling and making other forms of art. Bitter sweet for sure.
+Tokis Phoenix Not sure there's a direct correlation. Unless you think they're all using their free wifi to watch Elliphant videos, so views should be higher?
+Wotsma Naym Of course there's not any direct correlation but I just find these sorts of comments so "1st World Problems" type of thing. Its like seeing some kid getting depressed that they've "only got 500 friends on Facebook" or getting upset because saw someone else wearing the t-shirt that they'd just bought etc. To people going through actual real life stuff, these kinds of comments can understandably be seen as annoying, aggravating, whiny or even offensive. (Just 'sayin).
Tokis Phoenix I know, I was being facetious. Unfortunately, you're the one coming off as "annoying, aggravating and whiny" by bringing up something that has absolutely nothing to do with the comment you've replied to (which was only about how they thought this song ought to be more popular because they like it so much...) 99.9% of EVERYTHING that people say (especially on a silly RU-vid music video!) is going to be frivolous compared to the horrific atrocity that somebody somewhere is suffering. I hope no-one ever comes to you for advice on their First World problems: "I'm really scared - I've just been made redundant" "Well, boo hoo - someone got thrown off a roof and then kicked to death yesterday just for being gay!"
I listen to this song every time something occurs that makes me feel like I’m younger than I was in the past. This has happened to me three times: 1. When I was a freshman in high school, concert choir couldn’t fit into my schedule because learning center had to meet everyday. I was also assigned to be in all collaborative classes which is a class with two teachers. Collaborative classes was extremely limited on having a certain teacher for a class and it was a class with mostly learning center students which is basically the same kids in other classes. With being unable to take this elective because learning center interfering, with being extremely limited on having a certain teacher for a class, and being stuck with mostly learning center students in every class, it made me feel like I was in kindergarten again. 2. For 6 semesters I was unable to play in an instrumental ensemble because I was at community college and community college doesn’t offer any instrumental ensembles. I would’ve joined a community band but due to the fact I was only going to community college for temporary school, my goal was to focus on transferring credits/taking classes to transfer. With being unable to participate in instrumental ensemble, it made me feel like I was in third grade again. 3. I’ve had a car for 6 years. Unfortunately during my fifth year of college, my catalytic converter was stolen. My family didn’t think it was worth fixing since it was old and it had other damages as well. We were originally going to get me a new car a year prior to when my converter got stolen but we canceled on it because with Covid 19 restrictions there was a rise in prices and we were unprepared financially because of unpredictable transferring from community college to university and university is a lot more expensive than community college. With not having a car anymore has made me feel like I’m a sophomore in high school again.
She doesn’t fake her accent. And she’s not trying to sound Jamaican. You get the illusion that she is trying to sound like that in her songs but it’s not her fault. Also the music hides the details of her accent, so it is so easy for you to come to the conclusion that she is faking a Jamaican accent.
@@DenniskuhhNL Cause the topic is about you 'liking her accent'. My response is discussing her accent and giving some background on her "accent". Is there a problem of me remaining on subject seems as though your comment would be relevant if I talked about something completely irrelevant to the issue like how to properly take care of a rabbit. And giving forth accurate information should never be looked down upon unless you have a problem with education?
why cant iggy, nicki, miley and rita be like this, just lyrical without all the glitz and glamoury fake shit??? i can dig this, give me the real elli, im drowning!!!
This song is great, it helped me when I was at the stel house. Listening to Elliphant at times and staring into space was all I could do because of these HORRIBLE drugs they forced me to take. Thank you Elliphant!!!
Man, it is a house for the mentally ill. Pretty crazy up in there, the patients are cool actually but the staff are fucked up. Like, there is a lot of shit in this world that is hard for most to perceive. Trying to save a lot of people over the next few years
That carousel tone in the background (melody) is so beautiful. Reminds me of a lullaby in a way. Does anyone know how to isolate that beat so I can have it for my ringtone?
