I love seeing behind the scenes and studio ballet so much more than an actual ballet performance. Sure, the sparkles and tutus and "magic" of a performance are breathtaking, but I love the raw, rugged sort of studio ballet where you see the sweat dripping, the pointe shoes grinding against the floor and best of all how the moves speak the most.
EnglishRose719 me too. I love how you can actually see these impeccable elite young woman actually sweating here. It means something. Performance is an illusion!
I love this video so much- not really for the beautiful technique and grace (although both wowed me) but for anyone who does creative work, it's a great visual about how much of it is just showing up and putting in the hard, tortuous work to make even the smallest small adjustments. The performance is honed in the practice, and it is in the practice where the battle is won. Keep at it, all!
This is absolutley amazing, i just love ballet dancers, they are so strong and powerfull. It looks so easy when they do it, but when you try it is so hard and difficult! I really have a lot of respect for this dancers!
I am from Uruguay. I don't see ballet live often however I enjoy watching performances on TV. I have high regard of ballet -it is an art, where dance and music go hand in hand.
The boy's movements look so delicate yet so strong and controlled. He's gonna make it big or maybe he already did :) So good. All these dancers are so good.
outstanding trainning makes outstanding dancers, easy to understand, I know those kids are talented, but let us not forget that they do what they do and how they do because of their excellent trainnig.
You're right. So I'm not sure if he is pulling her hip forward. He might be pushing her back up and forward so she's not leaning back so much. I don't know. Just an idea :)
beautiful dancers they look like they are really working hard its agood thing that they did center batmas i hate them but we've all gotta do them to strengthen our core and legs:)
Near the beginning, I think around 0:15--0:22, the dancer doing tendu to 1st position: Is her 1st wider apart (heels not touching) because of hyper-extended legs? One hears such different opinions about dealing with such hyper-extension.
They are really good dancers, but if you look close, you can see some mistakes in their technique, but that's only natural because nobody is perfect. But they really could do something for their feet... if their standing on pointe with those feet, they will get really unhealthy feet. I'm quiet know, because they are awesome and I should say nothing :D
At the end of the video they are! And I can say, that it's not healthy when you sand en pointe and than you don't pointe your feet good (There is a good and a bad way to pointe your feet) But I think, they are good because they seem to stand really great!
mausejule01 Oh yes well of course they are good, I think they're professional ballerinas. I know it's not good for your feet (I used to use pointe shoes) but I'm sure they are looking after their feet as best they can
Erin Samuel It's not really unhealthy. It's just unhealthy, when you do it wrong (Yeah... I know... all the blisters may not be healthy too, but that's not for long ;) )
perfect non-forced turnout is entirely genetic. Someone just a smidgen away, can probably cheat it a bit (although you shouldn't!). However, even those with perfct turnout need to learn how to apply it ;)
