I remember Ron Ellis mention just a light, quick wax dip for his Ellisonics. He also mentioned how with 8s, round wound pushed into distortion, that they’ll do everything by EVH and Page, could do, but better (it takes an incredibly light touch) .

Great comparison! Have you tried the Gabojo Mr. 2000 yet? I'm curious how those stack up to these.

@@randolfio Thank you! I’ve been eyeing the Gabojos for a while but oddly enough they don’t actually do a dyna mount dynasonic. Maybe I’ll try their humbucker mount at some point.

Very nice demo. Looks like Josh put the Spatarmonds on the website a couple of days ago, with potted and unpotted choices. I have been looking for clear p90 mount pickups to put in my 30” baritone tuned low E like a bass vi. I’m thinking of the Spatarmonds, or the Lollar staple p90s if I want to save a bit of money (they’re supposed to sound like dynasonics). Tough choices. For example, I’m not sure of going unpotted is worth it for a bit more top end clarity vs microphonic issues-it’s not like I can try them both! :). Anyway, thanks for the demo and your impressions!

Great demo. Were either of these much of an improvement over the T-Armonds that you swapped out?

Absolutely (for my purposes, anyway). The Righteous Sounds offered a lot more clarity, especially in the neck which is where I tend to spend the most time. I will say the T Armonds may be a little more balanced between the pickups individually but the RS’ have my favorite middle position.

A little, but maybe not as much as it seems in the video. I kept amp settings the same between the 2 pickup sets and the Ellis’ having slightly more output it may have been pushing the amp (even though it’s an amp plugin, it’s a famously responsive one) into a little more breakup to bring out the responsiveness. Up the amp gain a smidge or boost the RS’ a little and you pretty much get there.
