As a fan of the 1981 animated cult film "Heavy Metal", I have a great love for Elmer Bernstein's amazing orchestral score. Unfortunately, most people only seem to have heard the official 12-track score, which contain less than half of the original music from the movie. As such, I'm now uploading the complete version of the soundtrack, containing all compositions from the film, and in higher quality than the official version. Enjoy!

+Chris Buentello You grew up with this movie? loved it for 23 years since i was 11 when i saw it on Cinemax with other cool adult animation cult classics like Hey Good Looking, American Pop and Vampire Hunter D (remember those?) and loved it. I even bought it when it finally came to VHS at age 14 with the CD soundtrack, got the DVD after my 2001 HS graduation and 5 years ago bought it on blu-ray. One of my favorite fantasy and animated movies. Taarna is a babe don't you think and Den is badass eh?

+Johnlindsey289 I grew up on Heavy Metal I actually got to see it when it first came out at the theatres.LOL my mom and dad took me to the drive in and didnt realize it wasnt for kids. I got all those as well as the trading cards and the making of book. Taarna is awesome! Which is your favorite segment? mine is Hanover Fist.

Chris Buentello Cool, how old were you? Taarna is my favorite story in the movie with Den, Harry Canyon and Captain Stern. Do you think girls with white hair have appeal to them? you know like Lady Amalthea from The Last Unicorn (remember that movie and her?), Taarna, Storm, Black Cat etc. I had a crush on Taarna as a kid and teen.

There was a midnight showing of this last night at the Coolidge Corner Cinema in Boston/Brookline MA. It was on original 35 mm film and you can see the grains and worn spots in some of the cells of the film. It was literally pulled out of the vault. I haven't seen this movie on the big cinema screen since it was originally released in 1981 when I was about to turn 9. Now I am 44 and still love this film

Again definite strains of the "Airplane!" score appear here perhaps inevitably - But no laughs in this tale of flying doom!

And to think, they cut most of this and replaced it with Don Felder. Don't get me wrong, i liked Don Felder's solo stuff, but wrong place wrong time.
