Oh boy, we were the lucky generation...music of the 70`s.....and it went on till the 80`s too. Here we are in 2021 and those beautiful sounds are still in our souls.......old as some of us are, now. We were there.
simply not fair how much talent these guys had, especially jeff lynne. wish we could bring this back today. but then again, great music lives forever. peace.
March 69 from St.Albans and my dear departed father and I love ELO. My dad took me to Wembley when I was so young and I swear I saw a spaceship fly up from the stage as the band walked out. False memory but a wonderful one none the less. I often put on ELO when I am decorating my house and have been for the past 3 years. I am not kidding either. I blast it out and it inspires me I am and old fart now, now did that happen Kids and grandkids, but I am still the child around here and always will be What a lovely song. Have you seen the animated film with the same name and the same tune in it ? It's good and wholesome. Respect the inner child in you
Truer words were never spoken. If we only knew when we were young that it was the greatest time of our lives.ELO,The Bee Gees,Earth,Wind and Fire,The Eagles,Ambrosia.Just some of the amazing bands of the 70's.
I was born in 1950. When ELO came along I fell in love and have been in love with them ever since. Love them all but Bev........uummm. I have a special place in my heart for you!!
@@zapkvr i begged my parents to let me go with them back then in the 70s. I was only about eight or nine so maybe they thought I was too young. Looking Back Now I really wasn't too young
@@zapkvr yeah that first ELO album is pretty good, the one that has Roy wood on it. But ELO continued to get better with each album. I'm not sure why he left the band so quickly
John lennon called them sons of the beatles. Did u know they had a song beatles forever. This band was inspired by beatles lots of beatlesque sound in their song. Elo is a great band i love elo...
Jeff was huge fan of the Beatles. They had an influence on him as well as the classical music his father listened to. He melded them both together. I just have to think it was an amazing experience for Jeff to be able to work with George Harrison on the Traveling Wilburys.
Aaaahhhh...memories of my childhood in the 70's....listening to this great song as well as as all their other great hits....LOVE THIS BAND! They are the Best....I loved this band since I was a kid.....Awesome!
Hey ELO Nut-You hit this one out of the park~!! I can't thank you enough for these quality old videos for the memories they bring of a time when we were young and balling through life without the current madness. I'm also a Nut so I must hit your subscribe bell. Long live the King of cerebral music~!!
+MrBlueSky474 Saw the Newcastle City hall gig from this 1976 tour - I can still picture Bev coming to the front and singing this with Jeff - magic! - still got my autographed programme!
No Way !!!! I Want This Present Life Over With So I Can Get My New Physical Body I Am Tried Of Having Cerebral Palsy.Sorry To Ruin Your Dream ????? from South Louisiana.
Yeah, the 1970s were fun for me too. At my high school now, we have a fence around the whole school. Cops on site. The only time a cop would show up was 2 guys got in a fight. Mano a mano. No more. Yeah, times were truly different.
Strange Magic is Jeff Lynnes Good Vibrations. Songs lik thoe are defined by certain special effects. The whooshing acoustic guitar sound is what attracted me to Strange Magic. The electro theremin is what attrated me to Good Vibrations.

These men didn't come from this Earth or universe. They are absolutely from somewhere else. I don't think anything from this Earth could be this beautiful!
Grew up in the 60's and never really followed any group till Lynne's ELO came along. Still my favorite. I'm 73 now. Couldn't afford all their albums but with RU-vid oh my, my
Man, this was one of my FAVORITE groups in the 70's ... I owned "A New World Record" and of course, "Out of the Blue"...that was a good record collection....
Yes that was a fabulous collection back then by ELO I seen him at the Uptown Theater when they toured with a new world record great show they're just some concerts you'll never forget this was one of them
J K : No it doesn’t !!!! it’s a great song what are you talking about ! this version misses the drums and the recording quality is a little funky but the song as originally recorded is an a “ELO classic”!
It's nice to see the drummer finally get some love. I knew Bev sang backup but I never saw him come out front live. It was a delight to see just like everything ELO. My favorite band of the seventies.
I cannot BELIEVE it's not George Harrison singing!!!! It sound exactly like George. I'm really shocked actually that it's not him. Even his style of song writing. I am just like wow. Only discovering this band today 17 March 2022😍💗 I am such a George H fan that I just imagine it's him singing. Sorry 😍😄🤣
We grew up often listening to these songs in tiny transistor radios with tiny little speakers, not always able to hear them in full stereo so it’s nice to hear the same songs today with better equipment
I was a kid when this song came out but ELO is my all time favorite 70's band. Wish I could have seen the original line up but I did see ELO part II live.
This song for me is the ultimate for rekindling memories: I remember where I was, what month it was, who I was with, and exactly how I felt the first time I heard it. Makes it seem like 1976 wasn't so long ago.
