Yeah these songs are recorded in 1977. I think it's a bit dumb to use the release year. It's like taking a photo in 1910 but releasing it in 2010 and then saying it's from 2010.

Love this song it takes me back I left school and started working I'd call in on a mate and get a bus to work but this was on the radio while he was getting ready almost every time I went
I saw the "Out of the blue" tour at the Pontiac Silverdome with the spaceship. I know they didn't do this song because I had already had this album and would have remembered. I saw ELO part ll twice.(yes, I confess, I went to see ELO without Jeff Lynn.) They did this song both times.

You know I didn't realize until recently that Melvyn Gale played piano on this specific song. I imagine he also played his cello in the string segment.
I like the girls on the strings much more. This song could be one of his greatest, if he got rid of the obtrusive guitar in the middle! The harmony is exquisite. What a creative genius! Thanks Jeff Lynne. See you in America this year!
You do realize that the string section is all men right .Google it if you don’t believe me well then again the long hair and the ugly 70s fashion .I guess how you could mistake them for women

To be fair, even if Jeff still has harsh feelings towards Bev, how would you feel if someone who's worked with you for almost 20 years started a new band with the same title behind your back? Kelly got his money and there's really no reason to fault Jeff
