Yes, $22k would be a huge step forward and make a difference. But I really want to see a no frills $12k EV in the future. That would be affordable based on current salaries in the US.
@@TeslaCarWorld I would put the steering wheel in the middle and have two sets on either side, and have two charger ports in the front and the back that way you have a choice to just drive forward and charge or you can back up and charge. Also as for charging make it where you can plug in a 200W to 300W or more Portable Power Station so you can charge off grid and while you are driving you can be charging to on the go and make it where you can plug it in the inside on the passenger side of the car. That way people will not have low battery anxiety like a lot of people do. and as the lights go I would have one big light bar down low in the front of the car like the cyber truck has but down lower.

Elon has promised low prices before, but I must say, if he can actually produce a practical, desirable, inexpensive electric car, it will be a HUGE success. Tesla could dominate the ENTIRE car market. Otherwise, kind of like the Cybertruck, which emerged at a much higher price-point than promised, the Model 2 might turnout to be a big disappointment. We certainly owe Elon credit for trying. We hope he succeeds. In engineering. We hope that he fails completely in politics. He needs to stick to what he knows.
Range! I want and EV that will match or exceed the range of my ICE vehicle. Currently I drive a hybrid. Range is approximately 400 miles. I never drive it past 400. I always keep at least a quarter of a tank of gas.

Normally with features like that it is very difficult to save at that price! Tesla does it mainly thanks to its technology platform and available scale. Resources that few electric car companies can do.
