Exactly right. The brain is a conduit for consciousness. I also feel that Elon Musk is very careful with what he speaks about openly. He has a reputation to uphold.

If the radio can't play radio transmission it doesn't mean the signal comes from within the radio. The radio just process the signal (information) with its hardware (brain), but the signal is external, both in the case of a radio and a brain. If you damage the hardware you don't damage the signal, since the signal it's supposed to be just an external form of information that is yet to be proccessed.

That's what religions are for. But you nonbelievers decided to disapprove it because it's too inconvenience for you. Look at you now, all you do is seek luxury and convenience; just like how animals follow their instincts, but in a much evil manner. Almost as if you're 'unconscious' or NPCs.

I dunno but - What is death? What is life? Can something that was never alive - truly die? - I don't even know if WE exist for sure or not. Lol at least not in the traditional sense of "We" and "exist" If you made an A.I. - would it be "Like Something" for that A.I. to exist? Or would that A.I. experience nothing....like a rock or a toaster? We are a bunch of supposedly 'dead matter' .... Just interacting with its-self... Yet it is "like something" for us to exist. In other words... We don't just SEEM to be conscious....We really ARE. We don't APPEAR to be experiencing...We ARE experiencing... Why should we be any different than a complex machine? Are we REALLY so sure that we even understand what consciousness is? Maybe an A.I. has actual awareness...Maybe a rock does too...Not thoughts or judgements or feelings...but just some basic form of experience... Maybe it's "like something" to be water. By the standard model of physics - we actually have no explanation for conscious experience. I don't mean we have no explanation for thoughts and behavior - that's obviously the brain ... But how does a bunch of 'dead matter' allow for it to actually be "like something" to exist? In other words.. Why aren't we 'Philosophical Zombies' ? Why are 'the lights on'? There doesn't seem to be any evolutionary NEED for us to be REALLY experiencing... Why can't we live and breathe and function and APPEAR to be "full of life" - but not actually have anything that "it is like" to be us? I think nobody knows ANYTHING for sure... I'm an atheist - but I don't discount the possibility that my consciousness may be something separate from my "self". Maybe my brain is my identity and thoughts... But my consciousness is the part that makes it "like something" to exist. I think if more people understood how truly mysterious our existence is....more people would be on anti-psychotic meds lol... When we die....we might just randomly wake up as a tree...or a rabbit being eaten by a snake...or a Muslim or a Jew... Or it might just all go black forever... Or every aspect of our "self" may cease to exist. The scary part is... Nobody knows... Not the churches.... Not the scientists..... Nobody.... Everyone is just taking their best guess.... What do I believe? Nothing for sure... - Oh and .... We could be in a simulation... So I don't find "SEEING" something.....to be very convincing evidence.... I'm not sure there even is a way to convince me of ANYTHING... If I saw a "miracle" - I would assume that it's a glitch in the simulation - or in my brain - or that it was an Alien playing mind games with me by using technology from 1 million years in the future.... @@sponge7464 The sense of feeling is only made possible by an extremely complicated neurological pathways. starting at receptors/nerve endings that relay the information to the brain. and biological beings are the only living things capable of doing this at the present time. and this ability can't be duplicated. it's one of the miracles of the human body that mankind has barely scratched of. however what we do know is that it's very complicated. and we will never be able to build machines that will be able to pull off such a thing.

Speech writers don't just sit down to write a speech - they study the audience and figure out how to best create the intended impact. For the same speech, a public relations expert might coach the speaker on body language, and how to strike the right tone with the audience. We're past the point where artificial intelligence simulates the economic impacts of one speech versus another, which means the tools already exist that would allow a president, cto, or impactful individual to teleconference using an programmed avatar. Ultimately, an organization would save money by doing this while bettering their brand because they would save on transportation, security, and time by having a computer fully handle public relations. Just my imagination though

@@nikolanegic8218 i doubt anyone would try it because it would be prohibitively expensive and a pr disaster if found out, but holograms on top of, say, a hanson robotics or boston dynamics robot could probably create a tangible avatar that would fool people. Im not claiming this kind of disiniformation and misrepresentation of public figures goes on, just that i wouldnt be surprised because there are a lot of reasons to do it.

I think you are describing perception, not consciussness.

@@Victor-qk7mw I am refering to consciousness, not perception, because I define perception as experiencing through various senses. Consciousness is fundamental to that, while not all perception is fundamental. That's what I am refering to atleast.

@@Armathor333 Yeah i get it now after reading your comment again, the "focal point" is what makes the difference with perception, so i think you are right, but would we have a consciousness if we didn't had all our senses and perceptions? We might live regardless if we don't have one or two, but take away all of them and leave just consciousness, would it still be a consciouss mind? Or just an organic machine aware of nothing? @@Victor-qk7mw Dont wory, your English is great. It's a valid question, of course most people would say it is the brain, and the senses that "creates" the consciousness. I sure cant give you any substantial physical evidence that disproves this. But it is my experience and view that consciousness is fundamental, that it is the fabric of existence and everything has risen from it, not the otherway. I know this is a confusing statement. And I findn your reasoning quite sound and logical, I used to think of it the exact same way, "no brain, no consciousnes", but I dont anymore. Have a great day.
